Today we’d like to introduce you to Darwin Tademy Jr.
Hi Darwin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m currently writing and producing two feature length films, and I am in the process of executive producing the Goonies 2 and the Blight episodic series but, I wasn’t always a successful EP. After graduating from high school, I joined the Marines and created two low-budget films during my enlistment. The director and I shopped them around for years unsuccessfully. I soon realized I needed to create a steady stream of income while pursuing my dreams. I utilized my partner relations within the Department of Defense and Aerospace Programs and created an overseas recruiting firm for government contracts. Becoming an entrepreneur forced me into the world of Venture Capitalism and Private Equity Fundraising. Skills that would benefit me greatly within the film world. Years later, I used the knowledge I obtained in the financing industry and became an Executive Producer. Now, I operate a production company that creates business plans, budgets, and memorandums for small and large film projects alike.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve faced many challenges along the way. My first indie film project never made me a dime. At the time, I had no idea how to license or distribute a film. At age 22, I packed my things and drove to California with only $200, hoping to break into the industry. I slept in my car and ate bologna sandwiches for weeks until I found a job that allowed me to rent someone’s basement to sleep in.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My journey has led me down many paths. Currently, I’m able to do what I love, which is producing films. I write, finance and distribute movies. But I started out my professional life operating an overseas recruiting firm for government contracts. Here’s my bio: Mr. Tademy stands at the forefront of a fast-growing Government Recruiting Firm. He’s spent the past eight years revolutionizing an industry that gives individuals an opportunity to succeed and evolve within their respective professions and skill-sets. A calculated risk-taker with a deep love for technology, Darwin is creating an enterprise catering to the app and tech world of today’s evolving generation. Darwin is recognized for writing and producing two feature-length film projects and is in the process of developing a third with worldwide distribution. After landing and leading the strategic development of his second project for the production company, he sold the distribution rights to a local film company. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he made a transition into Free Enterprise by engaging the entertainment world then fostering his own businesses by implementing strategies and partner relations within the Department of Defense and Aerospace Programs. Throughout his 8-year tenure, Darwin has built a reputation for developing business strategies, incubating new business models, and building out channel programs. He also developed and managed a profitable business model for high-end enterprise services projected to be the next giant growth opportunities within his field; his pricing models have helped nurture new products into mature revenue-generating engines.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My brother Daniel Tademy has always helped me expand on some of my most creative ideas. My brother David Tademy has always shown genuine interest in my ideas and endeavors. I appreciate him for that. Nise Williams, my executive assistant, has been on this roller coaster ride with me for the last four years. She’s very supportive and is a diligent team member.
