Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Vines-Derrick.
Hi LaToya, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started as a young visionary trying to fit in as I moved around often as a kid. Then I realized that the hidden passions that I enjoyed as stress relief began to take the front seat, so to speak. Upon entering college on a basketball scholarship, I realized that I liked learning more than being the cool-kid based on how I played. I declined a returning scholarship to head to the military (U. S. Marine). It was during my active duty that I really began to take arts, entertainment, and media seriously. Following an honorable discharge, I completed my M.F.A in Film Production and B.S. in Recording Arts. My life took a then unexpected turn… That unexpected turn gave me time to really think about what I want in life, how my gifts and investments play into that, and whether or not I should keep believing in reaching success. Today I stretch myself daily, knowing that it’s not failing that matters… It’s whether you get up and decide to go again!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been far from smooth. There were plenty of times when I allowed other people to place their fears of failure into my vision and it caused self-esteem issues and a negative outlook.

I am a content creator and visionary that believes it is more than okay to use all of your talents/gifts collectively so that you can reach a place of financial stability and freedom.
