Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Cocco.
Hi Natasha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a young girl, I was always painting with any kind of medium. Growing up in an artistic family whether it be dance, art or sport; definitely prepped me to be the adult I am today. I am an artist, I have studied fashion and costume, made my own costumes whilst I was a performer, and then finally I found photography years later. I am able to express my creativity still but in a very different way and it’s something I enjoy very much.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
When it comes to photography, there is a lot to learn, especially the technical side, lighting etc. I decided to pick up a camera and just simply begin shooting pictures and from there I have learnt through endless YouTube tutorials and from other local photographers. What came easy to me from my prior experience in performance was being able to guide models effortlessly to achieve the very best and unique poses during their photo-sessions.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my experience of life and where I have been. I have lived in five different countries, worked around the world with so many different nationalities. These experiences moulded me into who I am personally. My passion for creativity comes from travel, having the ability to see old ruins, famous paintings, climb iconic buildings. These experiences are priceless and they give me my creative visions. They make me aim higher. They make me work harder to do better. I am proud of where I have been and where I come from as British and Italian national now residing in the U.S.A.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband has always been beside me. When I’ve set my mind on goals, he was the asking “ok when, how.” Never did he say I couldn’t achieve something. He’s always been supportive of everything I’ve done on our journey together. Coming from a family of extremely strong (stubborn) women. I’d have to say my willpower and strength comes from my Nanna and Mum. They’ve taken me everywhere I needed to go without uncertainty and been my rocks when I didn’t even realise I needed it. My dad is a very talented artist himself and has always pushed me to do more and do better, always with support and love.
