Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Hall.
Hi Nikki, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always had a love for fashion and design. I almost went to design school when I graduated high school, but I got pregnant with my son and it just wasn’t an option. I instead went to school for accounting and I would just shop for myself and keep up to date with styles and help style my friends. I discovered blogging by following a woman named Angela Lanter, which is actually how I even learned to do my own makeup. One of my friends suggested I should start my own blog since I love shopping, fashion, and styling. I started it as a hobby for something to do and so that I could hopefully make more friends as and adult. I had no idea that it would open so many doors, introduce me to new and old brands, make me so many close friends, and become a side business for me. I am so glad that I committed the time to this because it has become my passion and hopefully, one day, I will start my own brand through doing this.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely has not been. I have had my moments of trying to keep up with the Jones where I got myself into credit card debt. As an accountant, I was not proud of that and try to make sure I share financial tips with my followers and great dupes so they don’t break their budget. I have also had a lot of people that dismiss what I do as shallow or trivial. I have had old friends think that I wouldn’t make it anywhere with my blog and luckily, I surpassed that by turning it into a business where I am financially solvent. I think people should follow their dreams and not care what other people say because at the end of the day, if you are doing something that makes you happy, then that’s what is important. Sometimes it may take you longer than someone else to get where you want to be, but there is nothing wrong with that. If you work hard, you can make your goals a reality.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My blog and social media is a lifestyle, fashion, and finance blog. I provide free styling tips, travel tidbits, and financial advice for the everyday woman. I would say that the financial tips set me apart from most fashion blogs. I try to make sure that women can keep to a budget and still look like a million bucks.
What makes you happy?
I’m an extrovert, so being around others makes me happy. I love being a part of the blogger/influencer community because I go to events and get to network with friends and people I haven’t met. I love meeting new people and creating new relationships. It also makes me feel good to help others feel good. I love it when someone buys something I have recommended and they love it too, or they feel fantastic after I help style them. I want all women to feel good about themselves.
