Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Moslow.
Hi Aaron, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For years, I’d walk into the gym fully intending to lift weights… and then immediately talk myself out of it. I’d see people who looked like they knew exactly what they were doing and, feeling intimidated, I’d retreat to the cardio machines and try to blend in. That changed in my late 20s when a friend recommended his personal trainer. Working one-on-one with a professional was a turning point. Over the next decade, I gained confidence, saw steady progress, and learned far more than I ever could have from magazines or online tutorials. During the pandemic, my home-gym routine and that personal connection with my coach became a lifeline during an isolated, stressful time.
In 2023, after seven years living in Costa Rica, I moved back to Florida with the chance to choose a new path, and the choice was obvious. I’d spent years admiring the impact personal trainers can have on someone’s physical and mental well-being, and I wanted to offer that same support to others. I enrolled at the National Personal Training Institute of Florida and spent five months immersed in both classroom and gym instruction. Just before graduation, the dean connected me with an alum who was transitioning from personal training to opening a CrossFit studio. I inherited her clients and launched Together Fitness, a private personal training studio inside a shared building with a CrossFit gym, a Vietnamese coffee shop, and a plant-and-housewares store. It’s an unexpectedly perfect home base, with a sense of community that everyone who walks in can feel.
Today, I’m most inspired by clients who want to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable in their everyday lives. Whether it’s a young professional looking to build muscle and burn off stress, or a grandmother who wants to pick up her grandkids and climb stairs with confidence, my philosophy stays the same: meet people where they are and help them become the version of themselves they aspire to for an active, healthy life. From beginners to seasoned lifters, my goal is to make clients feel supported, capable, and cared for, one session at a time.
I think my years as an “outsider” in the fitness world gave me the gift of genuine empathy for anyone who struggles to find their footing. It’s incredibly important to me that clients feel encouraged and valued. I listen, adjust workouts in real time, and make sure they leave each session feeling accomplished, even on the days when energy is low or life feels overwhelming. Some days, just showing up is the victory, and I always want to honor that by meeting each person exactly where they are.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a new career at 41 was definitely intimidating but pursuing something I’m genuinely passionate about has been incredibly rewarding. One of the first challenges was simply learning how to learn again. It had been a long time since I’d been in a classroom, and I had to figure out how my brain best absorbed information during lectures, study sessions, and textbook reading. Once I found my rhythm, things clicked. I graduated at the top of my class and started working right away, which helped me put everything I learned into practice immediately.
Another struggle has been self-promotion. I’ve always preferred letting my work speak for itself, and it never felt natural to talk about my accomplishments or credentials. But as a one-person business, I’ve had to get more comfortable marketing my services and speaking confidently about what I bring to the table. I’m still finding my voice when it comes to promoting myself, but I have great rapport with my clients, and the validation comes from watching them succeed and knowing I played a part in that.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love personal training because, at its core, it’s a creative profession. When a new client walks through the door, all we have are their hopes and goals, abstract ideas that haven’t taken shape yet. I learn their history, lifestyle, challenges, and aspirations, and then I start crafting something just for them. Like any artisan, I build a plan that’s functional, personal, and tailored to the person who “commissioned” it.
What I’m most proud of is watching clients feel proud of themselves. Their success feels like my own. Seeing someone become the version of themselves they once doubted they could be is the most rewarding part of my work.
I care deeply about the people I train. In every session, I’m paying attention not just to form and safety but to who they are that day: their energy, their stories, the ups and downs of their lives. The relationship is just as important as the programming. I think that’s what sets me apart; my approach goes beyond counting reps or chasing numbers. I want every client to feel seen, supported, and genuinely cared for while we build something meaningful together.
How do you think about luck?
Luck has definitely played a role in my journey. I happened to be in the right city to attend the right school, and I happened to be there at the exact moment a fellow NPTI graduate was ready to pass her clients on to someone with my skillset. The timing allowed me to step into a new career with a built-in home base and a supportive community right from graduation.
But luck only works if you meet it halfway. I chose that school intentionally. I worked hard, excelled in the program, and built the relationships that led to that opportunity. And once I inherited those clients, it was my performance, not chance, that helped me keep them and grow my business.
It’s like the saying about the lottery: you can’t win if you don’t play. I feel grateful for the good fortune that came my way, but I also know I’m here because I showed up, put in the work, and kept showing up every day after.
