Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Jenkins.
Hi Adriana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was a prison guard for about 8 years, I did hair on the side. It was more like a hobby. But I grew to love making women feel and look beautiful. In 2010, one of my clients was diagnosed with cancer after her first couple of chemo treatments her hair fell out instantly. So, we were making wigs and trying different styles that would make her feel better about what she was going through. At that moment I knew that hair was more than just styling it was a combination of hope, beauty, endurance, attitude, and a joy like no other. I enrolled in Cosmetology school and eventually, I left then prison and moved to Tampa. Now that was the scary part moving to a city where I knew absolutely no one and starting over. But all I knew was I wanted to be a hairstylist. So, I moved to Tampa and I noticed an alarming rate of women that was suffering from hair loss. So, I started to do more research and I said that I wanted to help women grow their hair back. I wanted to restore what some women have lost. So now I am a hair loss practitioner and strive daily to help women restore their crown with my RoadMap to Rejevunation Hair Loss Program
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Smooth road, not at all. But my journey was definitely worth it. Moving to a new city and the transition was a bumpy rollercoaster. I lost my job as a cosmo instructor, moved in with a friend where someone stole all my money. Had to sleep in my car, some days after the money I made from doing hair I would find a cheap hotel to sleep in. I definitely can go on and on. I felt I lost it all so hurt people, hurt people. My business suffered a great deal because how could I make women feel beautiful when I didn’t have the strength to build myself up. But slowly, I bounced back and realized that was not the end all for me. I had to keep striving. FAITH CONQUERS ALL
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
