Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Seebadan.
Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had always dreamed of being in Florida, even as a kid. Each Christmas and New Year, my family would come down here to visit family. I loved the warm weather, beaches and endless things to do. As an adult, I was busy with college, building a real estate business, got married, bought a couple of homes in Maryland and had two kids. We were very busy and I had nearly forgot of my dream to be in Florida until the pandemic hit. The pandemic made us slow down and really reflect on the direction of our lives. My husband and I had built businesses and were raising a family but honestly, we felt stuck in Maryland. We liked it but it no longer felt like the place we wanted to grow into our best versions of ourselves or raise our kids. How cool would it be able to jump in the car and go to Disney or the beach under an hour? We took a HUGE leap and moved to Florida to a home and town we hadn’t seen. We had done plenty of research on the area and it seemed similar to the town we were moving from, luckily it was! Our son was able to go to school in person, which was a HUGE win. Online kindergarten with his one-year-old sister was not fun for any of us. We have now been here about a year and a half. I am selling Real Estate with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty in Lake Nona (Orlando) and I am still maintaining my real estate business in Maryland and Virginia with TTR Sotheby’s International Realty. I am able to do a lot virtually or I’m just a quick flight away from my Northern clients. One of my favorite things besides selling homes is helping out of town clients find their dream home in Florida just like I did.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, up north, I had built my network over the last ten years. I was starting over networking wise in Florida. I have family down here but did not know nearly as many people.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I absolutely love to give back to the community, I always have. I typically host two food and clothing drives a year. This year I hosted Help for Haiti charity drive with the United Hearts Charity. We collected dry/canned food, clothing, toys and household items. Most of us have too much stuff, why not give it to those who really could use it? To bring more people to the event, I rented an Ice Cream truck and had some luxury cars on display at my office on Narcoossee Rd in Lake Nona.
How do you define success?
Being happy and being able to give back. It could mean building a team to help them grow and help more people achieve their real estate dreams or just giving back to the community.
