Check Out Amy Dipre’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Dipre.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am passionate about service, family, and community. I’m a teacher by trade and had my son in 2021 during the pandemic. I, like many other people during that time, felt isolated from the outside world. I missed my community. I recognized a need for a modern, flexible, reasonably-priced gathering space in our local area after planning my baby shower in 2020, so I opened Studio 1060 to give the wider Central Florida community a place to gather.

Starting a business with a 6-month-old on my hip was difficult, but I’m proud to say we’ve served over 150 families in our first year. I am so grateful to my husband, family, friends, and clients for their endless support in starting this business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were a lot of renovations that the space needed to have it meet the standard that I envisioned: paint, two rounds of new flooring, new lighting, installing a small kitchen, and fixing up the outdoor patio happened in 3 phases over the course of a year.

I also had to become familiar with local ordinances, laws, and contracts before starting. I hit several learning curves along the way. I’ll never forget the sleep I lost cleaning the venue at 3 in the morning or the hours it took to set up decorations before some of our events, but it has all been a labor of love.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run a small event space for intimate gatherings. We offer a beautiful, clean, well-equipped space for all kinds of private events. Our look, customer service, and flexibility set us apart from others.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is family and community. Pandemic-era isolation, having my first child, pausing my career as a teacher, and opening a business all reminded me of the importance of building and maintaining a strong community.
