Check Out Andreina Gonzalez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andreina Gonzalez.

Hi Andreina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Florida from Pennsylvania in 2018, I worked many jobs and wore many hats, and even with the second income in the household we still struggled a little. My family owns properties in NJ and PA, I helped them with the process of the rentals and purchases of those properties. I found myself more and more interested in Real Estate with the experience and knowledge I gained from working with them. In 2019, I was introduced to JM, who walked me through getting my license and offered his guidance, should I get my license. My husband and my mom kept motivating and pushing me to get my license. My mom came down for a week to visit and handed me her card and said, “buy the course, the one that will help you the most.” I had ten thousand excuses as to why I should not do it: work, kids, household, buying a home. She didn’t accept them and gave me the look and I registered for the classes. I passed my course in September 2020 but didn’t go for the state exam until March 2021. I passed on my 4th try. I worked a full-time job and real estate. At one point I worked one full-time, one part-time, and still did Real Estate work, along with being a mom and wife. I went into Real Estate full-time in July 2021, had my first closing in September 2021. From there on it has been a struggle, but I have learned so much along the way. Having good leadership, guidance, mentorship, and motivation has helped me get a step closer to my goal in my career and get to a point I never thought I would but hoped to get here.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, it’s been a lot of ups and downs, so many stressful moments. I thought about giving up so many times thinking I was not cut out for this. I even applied to jobs and went on interviews. My husband kept me motivated and knowing that my kids were seeing me and learning from me kept me focused. I switched brokerages 3 times, trying to find my “home.” A team that aligned with the way I believed business should be done and I finally feel like I found it. Finding a balance between work and home was difficult because I wanted to always be there for my clients and didn’t know how to set boundaries. There was an extended period I didn’t get to see my boys because I was working so much, then one day I get home and my son has a mustache! I was like “how and when did that happen!” That’s when I was determined to set up a schedule. Then there was success suicide, a car accident that stopped me from being able to work for a long time. It messed with me mentally and physically. I was scared to drive because I was scared that it would happen again and I would have to go through the pain. It got so bad that I had panic attacks every time I drove through that street because I thought for sure I was going to get hit again. This happened at a time I felt like I was getting it; I was on a roll, then BOOM! It knocked me down. Getting through it was a struggle; my husband and cousin became my drivers to go to showings for months, especially if there was traffic. This helped me start all over again in my career and driving. I still get nervous from time to time, but my mom always says “don’t let fear stop you from living.”

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Central Florida Real Estate Agent, I work with buyers and sellers trying to sell and/or buy their homes; that is the easy way to say it. I love helping people figure out their paths to homeownership, even if they are not quite there yet. I like to think that I am known for going the extra mile, always smiling, always being positive, and always having a solution to the problems. I am proud of the reputation I have amongst my clients, peers, and loved ones. What sets me apart from others is the dedication and love I do this with. With the help of my team, lenders, handymen, and contractors, I do the impossible to get my buyers to the closing table.

What were you like growing up?
I was a sweetheart, always there to help everyone else and to lend a hand. At the same time, I didn’t let people mess with me, I had a bit of a temper. I was the middle child and only girl until my sister was born when I was 16. I was determined to not let my brothers get to me or mess with me. I would pick fights with them and their friends all the time. My circle of friends was very small; I was focused on my schoolwork at school and didn’t really like being overly social or the center of attention. I was in every single after-school activity you could think of. I played volleyball and softball. I was on a swim team and took a class for decorating. I was never the girly girl I somewhat am now. I loved learning but would question everything that the teachers were trying to teach me. My two weakest subjects were history and science; my two strongest were Math & English.
