Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Faraci.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
After working in the Health Care Industry for over 34 years, in 2020 I decided that it was time for a change. I am native from Medellin, Colombia, Medellin is located in the Aburra Valley, a Central Region of the Andes Mountains. Growing up in Medellin I was always surrounded by coffee drinkers and at a very young age, I started to drink coffee myself, that is when I fell in love with the drink and the community that brought us together. As a child I spent all my vacations in the Eje Cafetero, Coffee Axis, at such a young age, I learned how to pick coffee, and most of the process before it hits our coffee cup. The dream was to one day own a coffee shop, and that dream never died. When I decided to go into business I felt it was the right time, my two daughters had graduated High School and were becoming very independent, putting me at ease to pursue my lifelong dream. While I had no capital to open up a store, what I did have was drive, dedication, persistence and tenacity among other things to keep up. For those who had been there along my side, they have seen how much we have grown since we opened our tent in July of 2021, to our current mobile truck in 2025.
The key is to have a lot of discipline, and change old habits for new ones. The mindset of a business owner, or aspiring business owner is what makes a difference. For myself, it’s about keeping positive, I immigrated to this country & paid my dues, I defeated all odds, and continue to do so, just to pursue my dream of one day owning a brick and mortar store of my own. To all the future entrepreneurs, keep pushing forward, and maintain a positive attitude!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I face challenges daily, you name it, I have been there. Handling a coffee trailer is not easy, I have to learn how to be a mechanic in addition of being a barista, a manager, an accountant, and a marketing director. I struggle the most with all the daily administrative duties. While these duties are tedious, it’s about the mindset I place myself in to accomplish them. The most difficult, is not to be able to find a permanent spot to grow and have regular customers. While I enjoy traveling across Florida, the ultimate goal is to be permanent in one spot, and continue to grow my community there. Another thing I have struggled with is acquiring the knowledge to improvise during difficult and unexpected issues. For example if out generator stops working, or we run out of product during these hot summer months in Florida. The struggles have shaped me into who I am today, and have taught me patience and ease, which is something needed in this industry. I wouldn’t trade the struggles for anything, I believe I needed to go through these things to continue to push forward to my goals.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I was a professional in the Healthcare Industry for over 34 years. I had a great time working in that industry and making the difference in the hospitals I worked in, serving as a Director of Operations Management, I am grateful for the relationships that developed, and the many front line managers, supervisors and front-line workers I was given the opportunity to Mentor. I specialized in Project Management, and now I am known as the crazy coffee lady!
I am proud of my children, I have two beautiful and bright daughters, who are very independent, and living their lives to the fullest. Both of them working on second degrees, and finding out and what they want to do for the rest of their lives.
What sets me apart from others is that I am eager to learn every day, I am disciplined, and maintain a positive attitude. I tend to always see the good in others and encourage them to pursue their dreams!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I give credit to my two daughters, they played a big role in the business, during our start up, they have been and will always be my best customers and role models. I learn from them daily, new things about life, and how to better run my business. Although they are not working with me daily, they always give me their support in many ways.
Some businesses grow quickly and that is because they have advocates, teammates, investors, etc. While I haven’t had much of that, I have my customers, those who have followed me and supported my business from the beginning; to this day continuing to visit my truck and provide me with business, and family who continues to support me and my aspirations everyday. Those are my true cheerleaders and I couldn’t ask for more!
