Meet B. Cloy

Today we’d like to introduce you to B. Cloy.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began pursuing a music career as a freshman at UCF. I released my first two singles, “One Night” and “Crash and Burn,” in the beginning of 2017. Shortly after, I released my debut EP, Looking for Love in the fall of 2017. Since then, I have released two more projects, Emotions pt. 1 (2018) and To Whom Do I Address? (2020). To Whom Do I Address? is probably my most personal project. And I’m really proud of it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s tough building engagement in social media. I know a lot of people might think that all you have to do is post a funny or trendy TikTok, or say something funny or relatable on Twitter, or post a picture during that “golden hour,” but that is just the bare minimum. All those things help, but they are not gonna get someone to take the time and comment, share, or even like the content you post. I’ve gotten a lot better at building engagement, though, but it has definitely been a challenge.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My fans know me for the raw emotion that I carry whenever I’m singing. I sing from the heart. I can’t fake the funk. I would also say that people know me for my songwriting. I’ve also been a pretty good storyteller, even as a kid. So it comes kind of naturally.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I have a new single, “Fear,” that will be released on 6/18.
