Check Out Barbara Hayman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbara Hayman.

Hi Barbara, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My passion for design started long before it became my profession. I was always the one captivated by every home makeover show on TV.
After a successful career in the Pharmaceutical industry, I followed my calling and launched my design business in 2011.
Today, I am honored to be an award-winning designer with work featured in numerous publications including a recent feature in the coffee table book – Inspired Kitchens and Baths.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any entrepreneurial journey, it hasn’t always been smooth but every challenge helped to shape the business I have today. I launched my business during a recession, which meant I had to work twice as hard to earn trust and prove my value in a highly competitive market.
I had to learn not only how to design but how to run a business, build a team, set boundaries and educate clients on the true value that I bring to their design

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
With clients all over globe – including the East Coast , Canada, Brazil and the Caribbean- I provide a full service turnkey interior design experience.
While I don’t subscribe to one set style, I am naturally drawn to color and have a special love for coastal and transitional spaces. I enjoy working in the luxury market and pride myself on delivering a high touch, personalized experience. My clients often tell me they feel like they’re my only client. I listen closely during our initial consultation and manage every detail from concept to completion, thoughtfully tailoring, each space to reflect their lifestyle, personality, and the way they truly live.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Surrounding yourself with people who inspire you is key. I’ve found that building genuine relationships- whether through design events, industry groups, or even social media can be as valuable as a formal mentorship.
I’ve learned the most by staying curious, asking thoughtful questions and being generous with what I’ve learned from others.
The right connections often come when you show up consistently with both confidence and humility.
