Check Out Bernardo Torres’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernardo Torres

Hi Bernardo, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am Venezuelan. I studied graphic design, advertising, marketing and took audiovisual production courses in my country, which gave me experience to work in agencies, production companies and television channels in Caracas, Venezuela, until I managed to open my own audiovisual production company, where we focused mainly on producing commercials for major brands and music videos for national and international artists, which made my company’s work awarded with prizes both in Venezuela and Latin America and having the feat of having produced one of the most viewed Spanish videos globally on the YouTube platform in 2015 with “Me voy enamorando” by the singers Chino y Nacho.
In 2015 I had to flee Venezuela for political reasons where my life was at risk and I made the decision to migrate to the city of Orlando, Fl, since my family was already living in this city.
My first jobs in the city ranged from working in a hotel as a runner, dishwasher and cook in a restaurant, salesman in a store, to Uber driver, where I stayed working steadily for a while, until I decided to buy a professional camera, take a photography course to update my knowledge and rekindle my passion for producing and creating images.
Currently I am dedicated to photography, focusing on fashion portraits, theatrical, conceptual and family photography.
In addition to photography, I am studying AI and digital marketing and decided to open social networks with the name “Prohibido El Paso” together with my best friend, where we can create short videos in high-quality reel format so as not to let my audiovisual part die, and enjoy what I love, which is the production and editing of pieces created by us.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have never given importance to the difficulty of the road. Every step I have taken in my life I have lived with the intensity necessary to learn what I need and I have enjoyed it, and the situations that have been difficult, such as having to leave everything I had achieved behind in my country and start from scratch in a completely different country, I have overcome them with a positive mentality, growing and reinventing my career and my qualities with the new tools that I have acquired and putting them into practice in my current job. I am still learning and walking this path with a smile on my face and embracing my future that I know will continue to bring personal and professional success.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional photographer specializing in fashion, theatrical, conceptual and family photography. I am known in the photographic and audiovisual field as Berch (my nickname) and in addition to the audiovisual field, where I had important successes in the past, today I have a conceptual photographic project called “CADAS”, which despite being relatively new, is growing more and more and is known by more people and I am proud that it has had a good reception from people. This concept is based on a photographic composition of the faces of two people, mainly family members, and aims to show the power of genetics in a black and white image that adorns the homes of these families. When clients send me videos showing me my photographs in the living rooms of their homes, it is very gratifying.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People who want to work with me on the photography side can just write to me through my social networks, mainly on Instagram: @berchto or through my website www.berchto.com and I am always receptive to talking to each person who writes to me through those means, and if they want to work or collaborate with me on video or marketing topics, they can do so through my Instagram: @prohibidoelpaso

Pricing:

  • Prices vary depending on the client’s needs, but for example, CADAS photographs have a package cost of $300 (The price may vary if items are added to the work).
