Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Heilig.
Hi Brian, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Diana and I met each other in high school and throughout the years delayed having children, then when we wanted to it wasn’t happening and after two rounds of IVF, Once in the United States and the other in Mexico, she finally became pregnant. Grayson chose to come early and was born in Cancun Mexico at 26 weeks weighing 1.6 pounds and only 12 inches long. shortly after his birth, Diana‘s health declined and she was admitted into the ICU. After a grueling three weeks of not understanding what was happening with her son because of the language barrier we are able to air evacuate him to Miami where we spent the 84 days in the NICU. I am currently writing a book of Grayson‘s journey which is part healing as well as a thank you for thousands of people who came to our aid, and for all the NICU parents who may need a ray of hope in their darkest hour.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We faced extreme obstacles including being in a different country with language barriers, denial from our insurance, international air evacuation, lack of money, a hurricane larger than the state of Florida, and much more.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a sales trainer and have always gravitated toward helping others get to a place they could not get to on their own.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Luck, whether good or bad typically is brought to light after the fact and in my opinion was God’s plan all along which is always for the best.
