Hi Britney, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My crafting journey began in my early years in St. Petersburg, FL, where my mom’s daycare sparked my love for children and art. Observing her engage kids in various arts and crafts activities at 6 left a lasting impression on me. The vibrant paintings and decorations around the house fueled my creativity. As I grew older, playing teacher to my younger siblings and giving them art assignments became a cherished pastime. At 21, I embraced a rewarding role at a preschool, teaching, and crafting for young children, instilling valuable skills through playful learning. My teaching methods evolved with different styles, utilizing provided curricula. Upon relocating to Orlando in 2014, I continued my passion for working with young minds. Engaging in art competitions at work became a tradition, and my active participation resulted in several wins. The year 2020 brought unexpected change with the pandemic, leading me to explore crafting through online platforms. I delved into various crafts, honing my skills through paid online classes. What began as a hobby soon became a lucrative business, crafting custom pieces for diverse events. This journey from a cherished pastime to a thriving business has been a blessing, and I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to turn my passion into a successful venture.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Becoming an entrepreneur is undoubtedly challenging and requires unwavering commitment and hard work. Amidst my efforts to build my business, I faced personal challenges, particularly my health. I grappled with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), which brought about weight gain and the emotional strain of infertility. While passionately engaged in crafting custom pieces for baby showers, gender reveals, and graduations, thoughts of the possibility of not experiencing these life events with my children weighed on me. Initially, I felt embarrassed, but as I researched, I discovered that many women were navigating similar challenges. Joining supportive Facebook groups provided me with insights and a sense of community. Over time, I became more comfortable discussing my journey, realizing that I was not alone in this experience. Despite the hurdles, I channeled my energy into my crafts, finding solace and joy in my work with children. The blessing of raising two beautiful stepdaughters has been a source of immense gratitude. While the road may be challenging, the fulfillment derived from my entrepreneurial endeavors and the joy of nurturing a loving family have become invaluable.

Krafty Creations By Brit specializes in crafting custom items for various events, from kids’ parties to corporate gatherings. Owned by Britney, an experienced teacher, this business aims to provide unique and personalized creations by leveraging Britney’s teaching expertise to enhance the business’s educational aspect. What I am most known for is my creativity when making custom crafts. My most loved items are my baby crates, often used for baby showers and the excellent customer service reviews I receive. However, what truly excites me is the rewarding experience of working with children with disabilities. In the future, I aspire to expand my offerings by creating sensory toys specifically designed for children with diverse abilities. This vision aligns with my commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that Krafty Creations provides delightful crafts for various events and contributes to the well-being and development of all children. What sets me apart is not only the versatility of my custom crafts but also my heartfelt dedication to positively impacting the lives of children, regardless of their abilities.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
If someone had told me five years ago that this is where I would be today, I honestly wouldn’t have believed them. I’ve learned the importance of persistently pursuing my goals despite any doubts that may arise. It’s a constant reminder to keep moving forward because life surprises you with unexpected opportunities and open doors. With God by my side, I am reassured that there is a plan for me that leads to prosperity and not harm. His guidance provides me with hope and a promising future. In business, I’ve discovered how crucial it is to value myself and overcome the fear of dealing with people. Understanding the market and determining fair prices have become second nature. Furthermore, I’ve cultivated organizational skills and a commitment to customer punctuality. This fosters strong working relationships and ensures that customers continue to choose my services. Every step in this journey has been a lesson in personal and professional growth.
