Check Out CedLyfe’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to CedLyfe.

Hi CedLyfe, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started making music around the age of nine. Once I discovered FL Studio and life changed dramatically. I heard what other artists in the industry were doing and developed my own sound. I’ve been traveling the US & Mexico for the last couple of years trying to make a way. I was living in The Bay(Northern Cali) until Covid happened. My music manager told me he’d pay me to move to warmer climates so I packed up and went back to Florida. I’m currently in Central Florida working on my next project.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The cost of living in The Bay is so high that I was living in my whip most of the time. Every so often, I’d drive a couple of hours south to Bakersfield to my cousin’s crib to shower and relax for a week or so. Although I hated the desert, it was comforting knowing I had someone close to me willing to help with the things we take for granted. Every time I’d visit, I’d help him with his music & his image. Talking/arguing because he didn’t entirely believe I knew what I was talking about. Eventually, he came around & soaked up everything I laid out for him. I remember times when I ain’t have a dollar to my name and he’d fly me out & have me trim weed for him. Shit was a blessing. He knew all I needed was a tv with the proper apps for movie lovers & a computer to cook up beats with. Although I was “scraping by” I started making real money when I linked up with the big homie I met on Xbox live 15 years prior. Lyfe’s been good ever since

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an Artist/producer that makes most of my own beats. A one man band if you will. I feel like that’s the best way for you to really get where I’m coming from/my point of view etc. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for working with other producers, I just prefer to have a hand on everything I release.

I’m most proud of my ability to adapt and actualize my dreams through my hustle. I got the money to mix and master my current project “Florida Man” by trimming weed in the boonies for my cousin.

There’s no telling what I’ll do next. That’s just the type of artist I am & always have been.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
With risk comes reward. I look at life like a big casino, it’s a lot of chance but your more likely to succeed if you invest your energy wisely. I’m basically a “HipHop hippie” so I’m like dust in the wind. Moving to Cali was a big risk but that’s just a part of life.
