Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Blackford. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Enhancing natural beauty is foremost in the mind of Makeup Artist/Permanent Makeup Artist Christina Blackford when she works. She is an accomplished and creative Makeup Artist & Entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in different aspects of makeup: Bridal, Fashion, Shoots, Boudior, MTV, and Turner Talent Agency. 

Christina’s reputation is built on her skills, as an artist, she gets to create beautiful and finished looks to enhance the subject appearance and confidence. She has the innate ability to bring out natural beauty, no matter the gender, ethnicity, or character portrayal. Having Celebrity Makeup Artist D’Angelo Thompson as a mentor and over five years with MAC Cosmetics. 

The permanent makeup industry combined Christina’s entrepreneurial mindset and inner artist with a unique profession. Christina is now using her skill for Ombré Brow artist to help restore the self-esteem and confidence in those individuals undergoing chemotherapy, suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania, or any other conditions that create hair loss, as well as those who have over-plucked or are simply not satisfied with their eyebrows. 

I am currently attending Eastern Florida State College and with just a few more weeks I will have my certification as an Esthetician. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I’ve learned staying consistent in whatever you do or trying to accomplish truly works. Just stay consistent and always do at least one thing a day to work towards the goal you’ve made for yourself. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I went to medical school and got my certification as Medical Assistant. Worked in the field for some time. But it wasn’t my passion. 

When I heard MAC Cosmetics was hiring. I walked to that Macys in Parkchester of the Bronx and I went to interview. About 3-4 interviews later I was hired. I got a full-time position and transferred to a 3-million-dollar counter. Macy’s in Yonkers, NY. 

That was my passion to enhance people’s beauty. I became Product Specialist and manager at a Ulta location in Leesburg, VA. I worked with MAC 5 years. And then I went on my own I had a family and being able to Freelance and make my own hours was my next journey. I moved back to FL going on 2 yrs. now. Within that time, I got my Tattoo license and added Permanent makeup to my belt. I am currently in school studying to get my Esthetician License. Within my career, there is always something new to learn from education, trends, fashion, etc. and I love it. I offer my clients makeup for any type of occasion, event, celebration, or wedding. Permanent makeup from brows to lips. Eyelash extensions. And now adding an Esthetician I can give Facials, microdermabrasion, waxing, etc. the list goes on.

I am a single mother to my 5 beautiful smart kids.
