Check Out Claudie Milien’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claudie Milien.

Hi Claudie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
CJ’s Bakery was something other than what I had initially set out to build. During the COVID crisis, I began experimenting with different hobbies, baking and woodworking. Every time I baked something, my friends would be my taste testers. Eventually, I started to take requests for different baked goods (Birthday cakes, muffins, cupcakes, and even some attempts at gourmet desserts). I became inspired by my friends to bake for others as well. CJ’s Bakery was the product of the love and support of the people closest to me. CJ’s Bakery’s big debut happened when we got a vendors slot at the East Orlando Farmers Market, where we presented our small pop-up.

You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
The journey so far has had its up and downs. The business has slowed down due to life events, but I want to bring back more energy. I am no longer a master baker, so I am still learning as I go.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The core philosophy of CJ’s Bakery is the made-from-scratch motto. Everything that is made starts with raw ingredients and elbow grease. We take pride in not using premade ingredients to give everything a warm, from-home style. I am very proud of the simple fact that the idea transitioned into a physical form.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Everyone has an interest or hobby that they could find joy doing. I hope everyone finds what makes them happy.
