Check Out Danielle Malary’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Malary.

Hi Danielle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs and always admired the freedom that comes with entrepreneurship so I graduated high school knowing I’d monetize at least one of my hobbies if not more. Soon after, I went to FIU for a bachelor’s in business administration and wrote a five years business plan for my salon in one of my classes. I graduated, went to hair school in NYC, worked in Manhattan for a few years and moved back to Orlando to start my business. I built my brand around everything that I love and continue to.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This has been a smooth road for me simply because I’m fond of what every entrepreneur knows and it’s how to work with what you have and recreate any idea. I’ve learned to embrace impermanence in life and I apply the same to my business. I go in with an idea and allow things to flourish around it. I move with what flows. My biggest challenge has been building a strong team of ambitious people but we’ve done great and I love the team we’ve built.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
It’s hard to pinpoint what I’m known for but I’d say for being an artist and creating in many different ways. Many people know me as Sunny a curl specialist and many people know me as Sunny the owner of Lumiere Vive Wellness Salon. Many people know me as a creator and a host of intimate, loving spaces. I’m most proud of the impact that I have on people and the safe spaces that I create for my clients. I aim to host events that always nurture individuality, community, spirituality and art. I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I don’t define myself as anything but a creator and I am authentic in every aspect of my existence. I live in art and I nurture my art with love and passion, whether it be hair, decor, events, or writing.

What are your plans for the future?
In the near future, I am hosting an event called Femme Fete at Gaston Edwards Park on December 4th to celebrate women. I’ll be teaching my annual curl class as well as having other beauty professionals like Joyanne Panton and more teaching other classes. We’ll be having music, food, drinks. and a ton of goodies. A percentage of all proceeds will be going to supporting an orphanage in Kenscoff, HT. All the information will be on all of our outlets.

My plans for the distant future is to continue to create spaces that impact the community and inspire people to connect with themselves and others. I do have big plans for the next few years but you guys will have to stay tuned to see. I hope to bring new concepts to Orlando that really change the way we interact with each other in all the right ways.
