Check Out Aurora’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aurora.

Aurora

Hi Aurora, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I had quite a few hobbies when. I was a kid. Music being the main one, I loved painting, writing, drawing, and playing soccer. Born and grew up in Istanbul, Turkey, I moved to the US in my early 20s.

It wasn’t an easy journey to be quite honest but It got me to where I am today spiritually, mentally, and physically I can finally say I’m at a great place right now. I have also found the courage to pursue my music career and in 2023, I started playing shows and I’m in the process of learning music production.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been smooth at all but also was so fun! Haha! Ignorance is bliss sometimes as they say. My biggest struggles were adopting the culture and not knowing how to navigate through my childhood traumas such as abandonment, unworthiness, low self-esteem, etc.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an electronic music artist – more of a DJ now and I’m going to school to learn music production. I love blending different sounds and genres most DJs wouldn’t in my sets but lately, I see that changing. More and more artists are pushing their limits changing things up and paving the road for us upcoming artists.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Yes! I love taking risks. I feel like my entire life has been a gamble. My biggest risk was moving to the US by myself not knowing where it would lead. I’ve never been afraid of changing careers trying different things and starting over so many times.
