Check Out Eliana Nunez-Devers’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eliana Nunez-Devers

Hi Eliana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2006, I moved from the Dominican Republic to Florida. Back in the Dominican Republic, as well as here in Florida, I pursued studies in Business Administration. However, life took its turns, and I wasn’t able to finish my degree. I became a housewife, fully dedicating myself to my family.

When the time came for me to rejoin the workforce, I found a job in my field and worked at Wells Fargo and Regions Bank. But once again, my children needed my full attention, and I made the decision to step back from my career to support them in their education. Although I was at home, I never stopped thinking about how I could eventually return to the workforce.

From a young age, I’ve been passionate about art and creativity. As a child, I practiced ballet for many years, and that love for the arts has stayed with me. I’ve always enjoyed creating experiences that people can remember, and hosting events became something I truly loved.

During the pandemic, while everything slowed down, I saw an opportunity to pursue my passion. I began collecting items I could use for future events, determined to bring my ideas to life. Over the years, I’ve attended music events across different parts of the world, and I’ve experienced the unique vibes, venues, and diverse crowds they attract. It was then that I asked myself, “How can I combine my love for hosting, my creativity, and my desire to bring people together?”

I drew from my college knowledge, my work experiences, and my love for logistics, and started turning my vision into reality producing events and shows that offer people something new, a memorable experience they’ll cherish. My ultimate goal is to create events that break down barriers whether it’s race, gender, sexual orientation, or anything else that might divide people. I want to bring together diverse groups through the universal language of music, where everyone can feel welcome and united.

Building this dream hasn’t been easy. The road to producing events independently without relying on clubs or venues has been challenging. It takes determination to create something from the ground up, especially in an industry that often demands working with established promoters. While there’s nothing wrong with promotion, producing an event from scratch requires a different kind of dedication and vision.

Throughout this journey, I’ve had the privilege of meeting many people and forming meaningful, positive relationships. These connections have been vital to my growth, and with their support, I’ve been able to push forward. Many have joined me on this path, cheering me on and embracing my vision.

At the heart of everything I do is the acronym “PLUR,” which stands for Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect. It’s more than just a motto; it’s a way of life. When we have peace, we can love one another. When we are united, we can respect one another no matter who we are or where we come from. This is the essence of what I strive to create with every event I produce.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building this business has come with its fair share of challenges. Producing events requires a significant amount of time, and the financial investment can be difficult to manage at times. Growing a brand from the ground up is no easy task, especially when trying to attract people to an event hosted by a company they’ve never heard of.

Despite these obstacles, I’ve roll up my sleeves and push forward. With determination and a strong team by my side, I’ve been able to navigate these challenges and continue working towards my vision.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets Delectus apart is that every event is produced entirely from scratch. I strive to create themed experiences, carefully tailored to the season or a specific idea. The musical journey is a critical element for me. I want to ensure that everyone is having an unforgettable time, and that the music enhances that experience. Each event is designed to have a unique, memorable vibe.

The quality of the sound is also key. Regardless of the venue, the time of day, or whether the event is indoors or outdoors, the sound must be impeccable. Without great sound, the atmosphere simply can’t come to life. It’s the sound that makes the venue shine and allows people to truly appreciate the event.

At Delectus, it’s not just about one element it’s about delivering the total package. From the theme and music to the atmosphere and sound, every detail is crafted to create a seamless, unforgettable experience for everyone.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck, whether good or bad hasn’t played a role in my life or business. For me, it’s about knowing how to balance the demands of entrepreneurship with family life. Transitioning from being a housewife to building a business has completely reshaped how I spend my time. Instead of relying on luck, I’ve made it a point to involve my family in this journey, ensuring we grow together.

At the end of the day, my goal is to create something meaningful that gives back to the community, demonstrating the value of hard work and dedication. I believe that with these two skills, any goal is achievable, no matter the challenges that come your way. Success isn’t about luck it’s about persistence, passion, and resilience.
