Today we’d like to introduce you to Flor Matias Castro.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out working at Hand and Stone as a massage therapist. And in between 2013-2017 I was dealing with mental health issues that arose from substance abuse. But when I got my head straight thanks to a training and development program and seeking out mental health therapy. I applied for an LLC in 2019 and began expanding my mobile massage business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, what gets challenging is that massage therapy can be challenging on my body, and then there was Covid that I had to make sure I follow CDC protocol.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work with athletes, people who sit in front of their computers, the elderly, physically disabled, and people with PTSD, or any emotional trauma. I am known for the style of deep tissue I provide which are Manual Lymphatic drainage, Myofascial release, sports massage, and sometimes some techniques of cranial-sacral.
What I am most proud of is assisting people in having pain relief that lasts.
based what I have been told by my clients is that what sets me aside from other massage therapists is that I listen and that I’m intuitive
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being able to listen and recreate the listening back to the client. And what makes a business successful is to make myself resourceful. I don’t compete with other massage therapists; I focus on what would be of service for the client.
