Today we’d like to introduce you to Francheska Rodrigues.
Francheska, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From my early childhood, I have always looked to overcome challenges life has placed in my way. Although I was born in Puerto Rico, my mother strived for a better upbringing for her children and she relocated our family to Orlando in the ’80s. As a single mother, she proudly raised my sister and I in a small condo all while working hard to make ends meet. Growing up, all my friends lived in beautiful houses and it was always my dream to one day own my own. Not long after, I became a mother myself and in my early 20’s I started my career in banking. I was given the opportunity as a part-time teller in Orlando Federal Credit Union. I worked hard and always looked for the next challenge. It brought me much pleasure in helping others and guiding them to reach their credit and financial goals. I moved up the ladder step by step, each position teaching me new skills. I especially thrived in the lending services. We focused on credit cards, car, boat, debt consolidation, home equity loans and much more. I continued to excel and eventually became a Branch Manager. After 14 years there, I was offered an opportunity as VP @ Banco Popular. After a few mergers with the bank, I wanted to focus on my true passion. This is when I decided to get my mortgage license. Since then, I have been at Caliber Home Loans working with realtors and borrowers, and being part of the American dream of being a homeowner. Like a fingerprint, every case is different. We find the best programs for them, come up with personized action plans and guide the borrowers thru the process. It can be challenging at times and it’s not always easy, but I can tell you that seeing those smiles at closing, makes it all worth it! I can speak from experience as that young girl wishing for that beautiful home with the white picket fence. I did it and know what a great feeling it is and it is truly my passion in helping others do the same!!!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I love challenges! To me “no” is not a word in my vocabulary. Just like with many things in life, yes, there can be struggles with many things and every loan, but you have to have a solutions mentality and find a way to make the loan work and get that family to the closing table and in their new home.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do what I do from the heart and will go above and beyond for my clients to make their homeownership dream a reality!
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I have learned that sometimes you have to take calculated risks to move up in life, to focus on your true passions and to follow your dreams!
