Check Out Free Dolo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Free Dolo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started when I was around 15, I heard a kid from school make a rap song that sounded really trash and I thought to myself “if he can do it, I can do it.” That’s when I first started rapping, honestly, not a lot of people know that’s how I started in the music game. Shortly after, my best friend Rhett showed me EDM trap music from artists such as Caked Up, Brosafari, and Dotcom. That style of music really opened my eyes to the impossible. Not only was the producer the artist, a song that can captivate millions does not even need a voice. I was known as LueyBeatz playing crazy shows, festivals, you name it, with the likes of the biggest heavy hitters of the genre. Crazy times! There was a void though. A moment in time where I felt empty on how life was going. I went through a very bad breakup that showed me life wasn’t as perfect as some will try to make it and I fell into a really lonely state. Thus, FREEDOLO was born. It symbolizes one’s journey of acceptance. To free yourself from the planes of being solo dolo and reach back into the existence around me. I started indulging more into beat-making and hiphop productions. I grew up with a southern hiphop background, so constructing these beats felt like I was back at home. With the ideology EDM has taught me, I spare no normalities when it comes to my production. The influences of both bring me to where I’m at today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s always going to be bumps on the road, some little, some ginormous. One of the biggest ones was growing up without a father and coming from a poverty-stricken background.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a producer, engineer, DJ and recording artist. The thing I’m most proud of is my newest EP Dark n Dolo, I just dropped a few weeks ago. My experimentation when it comes to production and the diversity of genres I can spill are definitely what sets me apart.

What matters most to you?
Loyalty because if I’m putting out my neck for you, I always expect the same. Also, challenging yourself if you want to set yourself apart from the herd.
