Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerry Katz.
Hi Gerry, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My first job was playing Santa for a kids photographer in Atlanta. After that, I became his wedding assistant for a year, then began shooting weddings of which I’ve done 631 and commercial work for 48 years. I’ve had studios, but now I carry my studio with me and I come to my clients to do their work. Lower overhead means more affordable prices.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Up and down around and around in and out good business bad business shooting the Olympics for Nissan then doing nothing with the pandemic. It’s been a wonderful ride. for 48 years. All exits are marked presidential elections rock ‘n’ roll shows baby kindergarten parties, high school graduation nonprofit money raising everything that’s out there. I’ve done and I’m ready to do again. I love it more now than I did ever ever ever before.!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
First and foremost, I am a people photographer having photographs 631 weddings 2000 public events, rock ‘n’ roll concert Paul McCartney, Duran Duran, RINGO, Star, architectural fundraisers, head shots, creative photography, whatever folks want I can do.
