Check Out Gracie Waldrop’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gracie Waldrop.

Hi Gracie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Some of my earliest memories involve Disney and traveling with my family, but it wasn’t until college that I truly began to discover that passion. During my sophomore year of college, I applied to the Disney College Program on a whim and 6 months later I found myself moving to Orlando to work at the Most Magical Place on Earth. I truly fell in love with Disney and Orlando during my time living and working at Walt Disney World. I learned so many valuable lessons about myself and the world as Cast Member. After graduating college I returned to Orlando to continue working for the Company. In early 2020 during the craziness of everything being shut down, I decided to start sharing my love of Disney and travel on my blog. I originally started writing in 2013 out of a love of writing, then shifted gears to share my experiences and expertise with Disney. Over the past two years, I have found a community of wonderful people through social media that whom I get to share my passions with every day. I love getting to continue making magic for guests navigating the world of Disney by providing helpful resources and planning magical vacations.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As with everything in life, anything worth doing takes time and work. Social media can be a welcoming place, but it can also be brutal. When you put yourself out there, you have to have enough self-confidence and know what your purpose is so the opinions of others don’t drag you down. It seems people especially feel the need to rag on Disney Adults and people who enjoy Disney. It can be difficult when you get personally attacked by strangers on the internet for sharing about what you love. I’ve found it important to remind myself of my goals, who I know I am, and that other people’s words don’t have to affect me (especially when they’re not true). Not everyone in the world is going to love you and that is perfectly okay. You just have to find your people and cultivate those relationships.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a content creator and travel planner. The main theme of my work is Disney, but I also love sharing about other places in the world and everyday life between the trips. I am also a Travel Planner with Second Story Travel specializing in Disney, Universal, and Sandals destinations. You can find me on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, and TikTok, as well as on my blog. I share travel tips such as where to go, what to do, what to pack, and what to wear. Helping others create the most magical vacation no matter their destination is special to me. The priority of my work, whether blogging, creating content, or helping plan vacations, is to be a positive influence and provide a welcoming space where anyone and everyone feels loved and included. The Disney community can feel very exclusive and I believe it’s important for everyone to feel as if they belong no matter their background or circumstances.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If you’re in a place where you’ve always wanted to start a blog or create content on social media or work for a world-renowned company, whatever it may be JUST START. Don’t feel intimidated by others or your lack of experience. Those people who are thriving and succeeding in the area you want to be a part of had to start somewhere and work to get to where they are. So just start. Take the leap. Take the risk. Put yourself out there. Don’t be afraid to fail. You’ll never get anywhere if you don’t start to begin with. But most importantly, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and remember you’re not alone.

I would love to connect with you further, so please feel free to reach out and follow me on social media. If you’re interested in travel planning, my concierge services are 100% complimentary and you can learn more on my website.
