Check Out Heri Palos’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heri Palos.

Heri Palos

Hi Heri, We are so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born in Chicago, Illinois, my family and I moved to Puerto Rico when I was 5 years old, and I lived there until November 2021. I am a singer/songwriter & musician who loves Beatles Music. I’ve performed in the rock & roll scene for over 30 years with several bands I founded and was invited to perform at The Cavern Club & The Casbah in Liverpool, England, where The Beatles first played. Heri has also performed at numerous venues, events, and festivals in the U.S. and Latin America. After twelve years of performing Beatles music worldwide, in 2012, I decided to part ways with the band I founded, the Jukebox Beatles, to launch my solo recording career with original music, releasing an album in 2015 titled Quiero Saber. In the last year, I’ve created a new concept – The Beatles Tribute Man Show – a solo musician act, once again playing the music I fell in love with! I am releasing my 2nd album, Illusion Garden, on November 18, 2023. It includes 5 original songs and 6 covers of different artists (English and Spanish), such as The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Sylvia Rexach, who have influenced me with their music, lyrics, and style.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
After leaving the band the Jukebox Beatles and releasing my first album, all the hard work fell on me to promote myself and my album. Then, in 2017, Hurricane Maria devastated my island of Puerto Rico. I couldn’t perform in the venues on the island and continue to promote my album because the radio stations had not been functioning for a few months. I decided to travel to Colombia to promote my music. Traveling to navigate the media tour and performances in different venues was extremely challenging. However, I successfully had many radio stations play my songs in Colombia, and in my live performances there, the audience loved my music. Then, in 2020, with the global pandemic, I could no longer perform live and decided to start Thursday night live streaming jams performing all kinds of music, including my own, The Beatles, and Latin singers that influenced me. As the pandemic continued, I created Sunday Pandemic Jams and continued streaming for 2 consecutive years until June 2022, when the pandemic was officially over. At that point, I decided to record my second album, splitting my time here recording at a local studio and traveling back to Puerto Rico to record there. I also work full-time and found that trying to get noticed in the Orlando area took a lot of work, as well as promoting music at the same time. Fortunately, I met my current manager, who has assisted me immensely with this new album and managing my career.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a singer, songwriter, & musician who has been performing for more than 30 years. I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Music.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
The most important advice is to love what you do, be prepared to work hard, and sacrifice for your goals. In the music business, you must be ready when the opportunity comes. Work hard and never give up. In my position now, looking back, I had to learn how to produce my recordings and to promote myself as an artist. Producing my recordings involved writing the lyrics and music, getting involved with the arrangement with musicians, and working with a recording engineer.
