Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Turek.
Hi Isabella, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, my name is Izabella, I’m a full-time mama to a 2-year-old boy and a fur mama to a very active Weimaraner! My husband and I just recently moved to Florida from Connecticut. I decided to leave the hair industry and follow my passion and make my jewelry full time so I can spend more time with my family.
I was a hairstylist for 18 years and enjoyed every season of it, but it was time for a change. I hated being away from my son. I started Izatazi designs 16 years ago as a hobby after one of my clients came in with a box of handmade bracelets and let me pick one to keep. I was so intrigued and loved all the beautiful colors and textures.
I remember that night after work and going to the craft store and buying a whole bunch of beads and then I got home and took the bracelet apart and started making my own jewelry. I started wearing the jewelry I made and then people would compliment me on my Jewelry, that’s when I had the idea of starting Izatazi designs.
While I was working full-time, I would come home and work on my jewelry business I made jewelry, built a website, had photoshoots and it became an outlet for me. I have always had a passion for creating and designing things and This is when discovered my love for designing bracelets and jewelry. So what started as a hobby soon became my passion. It became my outlet, Whether I was going through a hard time or simply walked the beach finding inspiration from watching the Beautiful colors of a sunset or picking Seashells.
A lot of time and thought goes into each piece that I make and each design has a reason behind it. I’ve always loved this quote “Jewelry is a way to keep your memories alive.” Anytime I put on a piece of jewelry, I always remember why I bought it and it brings me back to a memory or a feeling that’s means something to me. That’s what I wanted for people to feel when they found a piece they love whether it’s a gift or for themselves. I always loved helping people feel good and helping them in some way whether it’s little or big.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s never a smooth road As a small business owner but that’s the beauty of it. I’ve learned to embrace and learn from the hurdles and obstacles that have come my way, that make you second think about what you’re doing.
I think that obstacle challenges will always be there to learn from our failures or mistakes because if they weren’t there we wouldn’t learn and grow from them. You just have to keep remembering what your vision is and working towards it and don’t quit when things get hard.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would say my whole vibe and purpose for my jewelry is I want to be able to spread more positivity, happiness, and kindness.
I started to make positive energy affirmation bracelets that are a great daily reminder you need to get through your day, everyone’s journey and story are different but yours is your journey is unique just like you are. You can custom design your own affirmation/name bracelets using gemstones that help aid in your healing journey.
Maybe… trauma, anxiety, love, depression, insomnia or you need more balance or peace in your life, etc. So when you wear a piece of my jewelry it’s a nice little reminder to have.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Yes, I listen to podcasts and listen to audibles while driving in the car because we do a lot of driving. I go through phases of reading it’s a love-hate relationship lol. I definitely think that personal development is very important in growing yourself in all aspects of life and stretching your capacity to learn from others who are in life where you want to be.
Personal development is something I’ve been working on for the past 4 years to be a better business owner, mom, wife and learn more about myself as well in how I operate and others operate. For example, learning my temperament do you understand why I am the way I am and do the things I do, a temperament something that we were all born with which I never knew till I started diving into counseling to help heal wounds from my past which hold us back a lot and we don’t even know it!!
It’s like peeling back all layers of an onion and I have been swept underneath the rug for a long time. Although it is hard and I always thought it was embarrassing going to a counselor but it’s the best thing that I have done for myself that has freed me to the real person I am supposed to be.
