Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarid & Jessica.
Hi Jarid & Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After more than a decade spent in public education and providing private tutoring, we recognized a growing need for a service dedicated to truly closing achievement gaps. That realization led to the creation of Bridge the Gap Academy—a virtual tutoring service built on the belief that every student deserves a strong foundation for success. Founded with the vision of reinforcing students’ education, we understand the challenges students encounter in traditional schooling systems. That is why we created an environment where every student’s potential is unlocked and nurtured. Our approach revisits the essential skills and concepts students need to confidently move forward in their learning journey through our one-on-one and group sessions.
At Bridge the Gap Academy, we make learning fun, engaging, and fully accessible through our virtual platform—ensuring that every student, no matter where they are, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. We are excited to take the next steps as we work with a developer to completely outfit an online portal for tutors, parents, students, and teachers! It will be an ecosystem that provides seamless support to our incredible families and partners. Our goal is to give the gift of confidence, and our mission is to empower students to overcome obstacles as we build bridges to brighter futures!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As our reputation grew, so did our reach—connecting with families from as far north as New Hampshire all the way to Florida. Our greatest challenge quickly became keeping pace with this growth. To better support our expanding community, we partnered with a developer to begin building the systems and infrastructure needed to operate efficiently and continue delivering exceptional support to our students, families, and partners. We’re also expanding our team by partnering with highly qualified tutors who share our mission and commitment to helping students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

Jessica brings over a decade of experience in public education, having taught across grades K–5, provided private tutoring from kindergarten through college, and served as an Instructional Coach supporting both teachers and students. With a strong background in elementary education and mathematics, along with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, she combines deep instructional expertise with a passion for helping students build lasting academic confidence.
Jarid comes from a background in engineering and has extensive experience as a general manager and business owner in the real estate market. His operational and business management skills complement Jessica’s educational expertise, creating the perfect partnership to lead Bridge the Gap Academy. Together, they unite their strengths to provide high-quality tutoring experiences that are both academically sound and strategically run—ensuring lasting success for students and families alike.
