Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenorise Mejia
Hi Jenorise, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Jenorise Mejia, the owner of Winter Park Pet Concierge. My journey into pet sitting all started back when I was a young girl convinced that I was going to be a veterinarian when I grew up. Being raised with Pit Bulls, Great Danes, Angora cats and a chicken named “Peck” fostered my love for animals. At age 17, I spent nearly 400 hours volunteering at the Santa Monica Animal Shelter and at 19 began dog walking to raise money for missionary work. I continued walking dogs while I powered through over 20 years in the corporate banking industry. In 2015, I worked for a friend at a successful local dog walking company, but relocating to Winter Park gave birth to Winter Park Pet Concierge.
Through the years, I’ve cared for cats, dogs, turtles, ferrets, snakes, tarantulas, lizards and so many more; big, small, active, couch potatoes, young, old, dying and everything in between. All the purrs, barks, chirps, squawks, slithers and slobs have helped me grow even more in love with animals. They have changed my life and I want to give pet owners the resources they need for their pets.
Post Covid-19, the need for excellent professional pet sitters is greater than ever. To assist other pet sitters, I teamed up with a friend to start a networking group in Central Florida called Mid-Central Florida Professional Pet Sitters Network. This network allows pet business owners to refer prospective clients to qualified professional pet sitters in areas that we do not cover instead of simply telling them that we do not cover the area in which they seek service.
Away from work, I am a wife of 23 years and a mom of a super cool young adult who just so happens to have autism. Learning to raise a child with autism has been one of the greatest learning experiences of my life. In 2013 I Co-Founded Putting the Pieces Together with another mother of a son with autism. It is a free non-profit support group for families with children and adults with special needs. It is a soft place to fall for families of every background who need support, resources and understanding without judgement.
Those who know me well know I am a sucker for a good concert, play or dance performance and great food. Spending time with my friends and eating great food are great loves of mine. I also enjoy traveling and would love to learn how to fish better and hunt.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a new business is always a tough road, but well worth it. The major game-changers, but tough to bring to fruition for Winter Park Pet Concierge were going from paper to an online portal and taking on employees. Our online portal allow booking and billing to marry under one platform and bring ease to the process. Hiring employees allows us to service more clients. It is great to have a team, but it has its challenges in making sure we select the right candidates.

Winter Park Pet Concierge is professional dog walking and pet sitting company that provides peace of mind to pet owners who are away from home for work, travel or just out for the day. What sets us apart if our unwavering desire to put pet owners at ease when they are away. You can find a pet sitter anywhere, but even money can’t buy peace of mind. We don’t sell pet sitting, we sell peace of mind. Our clients become part of our family.
Along with traditional pet sitting services, we also do weddings, transports, carcass hauling, and pet taxi services.
