Check Out Jolynne Mora’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jolynne Mora.

Hi Jolynne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I had worked at several upscale home furnishing stores over the years, one of them was a small biz and private owner and I just kept thinking to myself… I could totally do this on my own. I’ve owned a business before. I can do this again. I was ready for something that was mine. I enjoyed helping clients pick out decor for their homes and I loved it.

Around that time, I had a conversation with a longtime family friend who’s an interior designer and a design teacher at a local college. She encouraged me to go get certified and thought I would love it. So, I enrolled at Seminole State College under their interior design program and received a certification as a Residential Staging Specialist. Upon graduation, I opened Elements Home Staging, LLC in May 2022 and haven’t looked back. It’s been growing ever since. And she was right. I do love it!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
HAHA! Smooth? No. It is a roller coaster ride! And sometimes it feels like those old wooden ones where they feel rickety and bumpy. Struggles? Well, all the ones business owners face when opening a business. You wear all the hats. Getting capital. Marketing, sales, web design, IT specialist, Social media, networking, sourcing, and then staging homes. You know, all the fun stuff!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the owner of Elements Home Staging, LLC, and I specialize in occupied home staging. That means I work with homeowners who are living in their homes while it is on the market. This is often some of the most challenging and emotional situations in real estate. Sometimes it’s a family with young kids trying to juggle daily life while getting the home market-ready. Other times, it’s someone downsizing after decades in the same home. Whatever the situation, I meet people where they are with empathy, strategy, and on-going support.

What I’m most proud of is how hands-on and encouraging my service is. I guess you can say I am kind of like a coach, cheerleader, motivational speaker. I don’t just give advice and leave. My clients receive a detailed and writable staging checklist booklet, sourcing help, and continued follow-up support as they work through the changes. For some, I return to stage the home with my inventory or offer a final styling session before listing.

What sets me apart is my ability to serve people with heart and purpose. I work closely with homeowners and their agents to make sure each space is prepped, polished, and aligned with buyer expectations, without adding stress to an already overwhelming time. For realtors, I take the prep work off their plate so they can focus on the sale, knowing the home will show beautifully. At the end of the day, I’m not just here to decorate. I’m here to make a real difference during one of life’s biggest transitions.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Well, first, I have to mention I’m a twin. So that was a big part of my life growing up. I was the more conservative twin, quiet and a bit shy, while my sister was more outgoing. I liked calm things. I loved to sing in the chorus and swing on the swings. I especially loved the feeling when the wind hit my face and hair as I swung forward. It was peaceful and freeing. I also loved to read, ride bikes, and spend time with friends. Fantasy stories fueled my imagination and love for creativity. Fantasy stories were my escape growing up, opening doors to creativity and imagination that still inspire the work I do today.

My parents owned a ceramic business, and I spent a lot of time helping out there. I remember my mom visiting different businesses to promote her ceramics, especially to restaurants. She also made porcelain dolls. pouring the molds, painting the faces, and making the clothes herself. I still have some of the dolls she made me, though they’re packed away safely, not on display.

Christmas decorations were a big deal growing up, and my mom loved decorating the home. Watching both my parents create and paint ceramics was inspiring. I guess I really grew up in a creative family, which planted the seeds for the work I do now.

I wasn’t the loudest kid in the room, but I was honest, planned, and detail-oriented. I’ve always liked structure and making sure things are done carefully, which I now realize plays a big role in the kind of work I do.

Those early qualities of being honest, careful, and creative in my own quiet way, are still at the heart of what I bring to every client and home today. They help me create spaces that are thoughtfully designed and meticulously prepared, so every detail supports a comfortable, inviting, and market-ready home.
