Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliana Green.
Hi Juliana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Juliana Green and I am a mother and nurse who loves to serve. I have been a nurse since 2011 and most recently was managing the cardiovascular service line at Orlando Health. COVID definitely changed a lot of lives and the plans many had made for the future including mine. On my time off, I often found myself spending time with my daughter, and together we had discovered Boba Tea and made something we enjoyed together. From seeking different places to trying new flavors, we laughed and spend qualiTEA time making memories. After realizing that Clermont did not have its own Boba place, it became a dream of mine to open Clermont’s first Boba Tea story. Fast forward to June 2020, when Teamont Boba opened its doors with a line around the block for 9 hours. All of our family and friends joined me in this amazing journey that would change our lives. Teamont was then located inside a marketplace sharing space with other vendors. I continued serving at the hospital and for 18 months I was able to do both the hospital and the store. I covered the local ICU leadership during the worse of the pandemic but felt that getting the staff through that was a way to close my nursing calling feeling proud of my journey. That’s when I made the transition to be full-time at the store.
Teamont had quickly outgrew the original space and after much prayer, we made the decision to move Teamont to our current storefront location, still at the beautiful downtown Clermont.
We have proficiently developed each drink recipe to a delicious craft. The Boba is cooked to perfection around the clock, and we have recently added our boba-inspired soft serve ice cream which allows us to make amazing boba floats.
My new calling has become to not only to provide the community with a place to come together (like my daughter and I did) but also to introduce young adults to the workforce in a healthy and protected way. Teamont currently employs 14 young adults including my youngest daughter. We hope you feel the love as you enter the building and invite you all to come visit soon.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The major struggle was to manage the hospital and the store for the initial leg but I have an awesome support system including my husband, my mom and my kids, my brother and his family, and best friends. It has been an amazing journey and a lot of hard work. I miss my hospital family but they come to visit from time to time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Our Boba Teas are made with highest quality products and we take pride on what we do. We cook the boba in house around the clock to a perfect consistency and taste and serve within 4 hours of cooking to assure its softness. Each recipe was carefully developed. Our most popular flavor is our Tiger Milk Tea which is our vanilla milk tea with brown sugar drizzled all over the cup. It’s exquisite and level of sweetness and ice can be adjusted in all drinks. My personal favorite is our delicious coconut/ lavender with tapioca pearls or traditional boba. On the weekends we serve our famous FFC (fresh fruit cooler), made with fresh fruits, deliciously paired with your favorite popping pearl flavor. The ice cream is also a must-try!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Our goals include to expand Teamont and even bring the store to places that don’t have Boba Tea shops yet. We are exploring a few ideas and additions to our current location. As we are always looking for ways or make it better, we have recently changed our POS to now allow our customers to order online, and to be texted when their order is ready allowing them to visit the Galleria and shop (located next door) while they wait. Teamont’s walls are decorated with my drawings and touch. A friend of mine, architect Fabricio Novaes helped me organize all ideas and plans into a reality. I love how the store looks and feels and would like to bring that to other cities around Orlando. We also have found a way to give back by creating a little corner where our customers can donate to a local home homeless children program called Find Feed and Restore and leave them an encouraging message. At the end of each month, Teamont matches the contributions and donates the funds to help this important cause.
