Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaley Lopez.
Hi Kaley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, my photography journey really began with travel. My husband and I were newly married, I was working as a Radiology Tech, and we spent a lot of our free time traveling. It was actually Christian, my husband, who encouraged me to start our K and C Travel Blog as a hobby. But as much as I enjoyed my job working as a Rad Tech, I started to realize that it wasn’t something I really loved.
So I began looking into other career options, and I have a very close friend who is an amazing photographer who truly inspired me to learn more about photography and take it from a hobby to something more. And like so many others, the pandemic gave me that extra push away from the medical field that I needed to take the plunge and start my business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think a lot of people like myself who have started their own business would agree that our insecurities are often our biggest mountain to climb. I found myself constantly asking if I could really do this. Questioning everything and coming home in a panic after a photo session and feeling like I completely bombed it. But I received a lot of encouragement from my family and my husband and I’ve really tried to take in as much education as I can to give me the tools and confidence to continue building my photography business.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
So my photography style is natural and vibrant. I’ve worked with families and couples, but I’ve had a lot of fun creating portraits with individuals clients. I just love how personal it is. So I’ve very recently started moving in the direction of helping business professionals by providing personal branding sessions for my clients. And that’s something I’m incredibly excited about.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I really enjoy connecting with people on social media and supporting other businesses the way I’ve been supported. So even if you aren’t sure about booking a session, I’m always available to answer questions. I like doing research and I love teaching so my virtual “door” is always open. You can send me a DM on Instagram, reach out through my website, even just to say “hey!”
