Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Bean.
Hi Katherine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey in 2020 when suffering from postpartum depression I found Kimberly Snyder podcast where I learned so much about natural vegan wellness. One day I decided to change my life for good and started to try natural skin care remedies. During this process I share with my experience with my neighbor that is now cancer free thanks to natural wellness. I remember sharing with her that I wanted to start trying to make my own skin care products because I did not trust what mayor companies put in their products. She asked me if cud make Organic deodorant and thats where all started. I stopped by her house almost every day sharing with her all the products I created: Organic Deodorant, Organic Rose Lip, Scrub , organic Chapsticks and Vegan Soap.
Since then , I’ve expanded my line of products, taking into consideration the entire body and wellness using all natural oils.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been bumpy at times. When I started Bliss Ivory I had no idea how hard it would be but as wife, mother of two girls , Latina I was not going to let anything stop me. If thats not enough I am proud flight attendant for a major airline. I’ve been in the industry for 13 years. Working in this role has allowed me to meet a lot of people and understand their needs.
My first priority in life is to be a Mom and then a wife. Olivia who is seven and Amelia who is turning two – keep me busy. My husband Edward is very supportive and is always by my side. I’m very fortunate to have the support of my family, but I never loose focus of them and the time they deserve.
As for Bliss Ivory and the community, it’s been a lot Farmers Market weekends introducing my products to the community. Thus far the response has been great and my business is growing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
All of our products are hand crafted with care using only the best natural ingredients and good vibes. Our products are formulated to take care of different skin problems like dry skin, acne, anti-aging and many more. We are a cruelty free company and we make sure all of oils come form sustainable sources.
Our product line currently consist of : Vegan Soap, Body Butter, Organic Chapstick, Body Scrubs, Bath Salts, Bath Bombs, Anti-aging Oils,Rose Water Face Toner and Hand Soaps.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes. COVID is the first “thing” in my life that has truly had an impact on the entire world, not just the USA. As a result, a lot of peoples life’s have been impacted for years to come. My family and I unfortunately suffered from COVID and the perspective upon healing is grateful.
We now take safety and sanitary measures to make sure our products are safe for our costumers never changing our high quality standards.
