Today we’d like to introduce you to Katiana Morisseau.
Hi Katiana, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I wouldn’t call myself a trendsetter, but I’ve always had a passion for fashion, as they would say. My ideal look is never the same I do prefer to switch up my own style regardless of what I’m wearing. And to be completely honest, I don’t “dress up dress up” unless I’m going to the club, a formal event or on a date. But I wanted to start a brand where fashion can be expressed differently.
Now since I have just started, everything has been going at a small speed because you don’t want to overwhelm yourself or the audience you are trying to attract, which is pretty much everyone. LOL! If I’m being honest, I started paying attention to my items of clothing as I progressed into adulthood. I remember going into the clothing store with my mom and siblings, and she would tell us to each get three shirts and two bottoms. It had nothing to do with being poor because we weren’t. It was just too many kids to shop for. We made the best of since me and my sister could always alternate ours not so much as my little sister who was a completely different size than us.
As of now, I’m hoping to show the world that fashion isn’t always about the brand of clothing that you wear. It’s about showing personality through your everyday clothing. I’ve come across many people, and what you wear does say something about the day that your having at that very moment. But also you have others who their own style speaks volume about the person they are on a daily basis. I want everyone to understand that we cannot judge anyone’s sense of style just because it may not accommodate with what they like, and that is okay. We were never made to all be the same. Be stylish in whatever you wear. It’s more than just clothing. It’s a lifestyle. VIV LE FASHION!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been smooth. I’ve had my moments where I rushed in too soon and didn’t deliver. It’s a process, and you definitely do get better along the way. I didn’t have business cards or even enough items when I first started, plus I was scared to even share, let alone post my stuff due to what others may think or say. As time passes on, You learn what not to do, and also there’s no rush. Perfection takes time.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
On a regular schedule, I am a Referral Coordinator at the Health Department in Orlando. I assist patients in finding healthcare through their insurance companies. I’ve been in the field for 11 going on 12 years now, and I do enjoy what I do in the sense of helping others. You can catch me sneaking in some business hours while on the clock “Lol, don’t tell my boss,” but it’s all a part of building your brand and business.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice would be to research as much as possible. It doesn’t matter what field you in a business path, I find that learning as much as you can help along the way. I’ve watched a lot of YouTube and learn from influencers through Instagram. You take what knowledge you can to implement it into your own.
