Today we’d like to introduce you to Khristy Chamberlain.
Hi Khristy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved baking. I was that kid growing up who spent her time watching the Food Network instead of cartoons. Growing up, I use to love being in the kitchen, and I would make my family all kinds of desserts. As I got older, baking was still one of my favorite things to do, but I didn’t have as much time for it as I would have liked.
Then came Covid. My family and I were stuck at home together for just around 3months, and in order to keep ourselves sane, we started to find new hobbies. I randomly came across a cookie on Instagram that was offering a class, and I figured what the heck. It would be something fun to do on a lazy afternoon. I had no idea I would become hooked, and only a short months later decided to open my own cookie shop. Thanks to word of mouth and social media, my little cookie business has really taken off.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I mean I think with every new business venture, the first step is to just take the leap and go for it. I was nervous at first, and I am definitely still finding my groove, but so far it’s been a lot of fun!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Musical Theatre performer. Been working in the entertainment industry for over ten years. I have performed and traveled all over nationally, worked overseas, and even on the high seas. My husband and I moved from NYC a couple of years ago when we decided it was time to settle down and start a family. Fast forward a few years and here we are now with our beautiful two-year-old little girl.
Currently, I am a Performing Arts Teacher at a local school. I always knew teaching was my calling. My passions in life are performing and teaching children, so it is a blessing that I get to combine both my passions into one job.
What matters most to you?
My family. My passion. My family is my everything. I never really understood that until I became a mother. I have always been extremely close to my own family, and I was blessed with a mother and father who have supported me 1000%. But now that I am a mother, I truly understand the sacrifice and the drive to do anything for your family. They are my world.
I live life through my passion. I am not true to myself unless I am doing what I am passionate about. Cookies are just another way I am able to fulfill my creative passion.
