Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristal Padula
Kristal, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always envisioned myself as a successful businesswoman—someone who creates opportunities not just for myself, but for my family and my community. That drive for “more” has been with me for as long as I can remember.
I was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Tampa, Florida when I was 12 years old. Tampa has been my home ever since, and I was fortunate to be raised by hardworking parents who instilled in me the values of dedication, perseverance, and humility.
My professional journey has been one of growth, exploration, and experience. Over the years, I worked in various sales roles, specializing in life insurance, health insurance, and supplemental insurance. Each of these roles taught me invaluable lessons about building relationships, understanding people’s needs, and providing solutions that make a real impact.
After nearly a decade of refining my skills and discovering what truly drives me, I found my calling in the mortgage industry. Becoming a loan originator has been the most fulfilling step in my career because it allows me to play a vital role in helping families achieve homeownership. There’s something incredibly rewarding about guiding clients through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives and making what often feels like an overwhelming process seamless, educational, and empowering.
I didn’t just step into this industry—I brought with me years of experience in finance, sales, and client relationships, which have equipped me to serve my clients with expertise and confidence. The best part? Every day, I get to change lives. Whether it’s a first-time homebuyer or a family looking to secure their dream home, being part of that journey is an honor and a responsibility I don’t take lightly.
I’m just getting started, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead. My mission is clear: to educate, empower, and help more people step into homeownership with confidence.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not a smooth road at all. If anything, it’s been a beautifully chaotic journey.
I like to call myself a “momtrepreneur” because I’m not just a loan originator. I’m also a full-time, hands-on mom. I have two little ones: a 4-year-old daughter who is autistic and a 1-year-old son who is full of energy and constantly wants my attention. Most days, I’m balancing client calls, emails, pre-approvals, and deals—while also changing diapers, making snacks, and handling meltdowns.
Being a mom is my first and most important job, but I’ve always had the desire to build a career, create financial independence, and make an impact. So for me, the challenge has never been about choosing between family or career, it’s about figuring out how to make both work.
And let me tell you, it’s not easy. Every single day requires discipline, consistency, and an insane amount of determination. I’ve had to create new habits, build structure, and push myself to show up even on days when I’m exhausted. But the way I see it? Life is hard regardless. Whether I stay stagnant or push forward, there will always be challenges.
So I choose to do what I love. I choose to chase my goals while raising my kids. I choose to build something meaningful for my family and my future. It’s not always smooth, but it’s worth it. And if I can inspire even one other mom to go after her dreams while raising her babies, then every challenge is worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Loan Originator & Mortgage Broker, specializing in wholesale lending. What does that mean for my clients? It means I have the ability to shop around with multiple lenders to find the best possible loan terms, lowest rates, and most customized mortgage solutions to fit their unique needs.
I work with all types of homebuyers, but I have a strong focus on first-time homebuyers, VA loans, and conventional loans. That being said, I have extensive knowledge of various loan programs, and if I’m not the right person for a particular situation, I know exactly who to refer my clients to. My priority is always to find the best solution—even if that means connecting them with another expert.
What truly sets me apart is the level of trust and personal connection I build with my clients. Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions a person will make, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I’m not just here to close deals, I’m here to guide, educate, and make the process as seamless as possible.
As a bilingual loan officer (fluent in Spanish), I also ensure that language is never a barrier for my clients. Homeownership should be accessible to everyone, and I take pride in making sure my Spanish-speaking clients feel just as informed and empowered throughout the process.
Another thing that sets me apart? The way I treat partnerships. I don’t just work with homebuyers.I work closely with realtors, title companies, insurance agents, and other industry professionals to create a streamlined, stress-free experience for everyone involved. I see myself as more than just a loan officer. I’m a partner, a content creator, and a problem solver.
I am incredibly passionate about serving my community and supporting my network of real estate professionals. Whether it’s through social media education, content creation, or simply being the most reliable lender they can count on, I go above and beyond to build real relationships, not just transactions.
At the end of the day, my dedication, transparency, and commitment to my clients and partners is what makes me different. I’m not just here to do loans,I’m here to create lasting success stories in homeownership.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice? Have a plan. Don’t just jump into something new without a roadmap and a vision. Success doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when you take intentional, strategic steps to grow.
#1 Seek mentorship. Find someone who has already walked the path you’re trying to take. Learning from experience—whether it’s yours or someone else’s—will shorten your learning curve.
#2 Surround yourself with the right people. The people you spend time with will either elevate you or hold you back. Surround yourself with those who challenge, inspire, and push you to grow.
#3 Develop your skills & never stop working on yourself. Whether it’s sales, communication, negotiation, or leadership, sharpening your skills will always set you apart.
#4 Get licensed & gain real-world experience. If you’re considering a career in real estate or lending, get your license, take a sales job, and start sharpening your craft. The best way to learn is to get in the game and start doing.
Most importantly, remember these four words whenever you’re about to start something new—something that scares you but keeps calling your name:
*COURAGE – Have the courage to start, even when you’re unsure.
*CATAPULTING – Use your fears and challenges as fuel to propel you forward.
*CONSISTENT – Show up every day, even when it’s hard, even when it’s slow.
*ACTION – Nothing happens if you don’t take the first step. Stop waiting for the perfect time—it doesn’t exist!
You are your biggest competition and your biggest enemy. The only thing standing between you and success is you. So take the leap, do the work, and go after the life you want.
