Check Out Lauren Roberts’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Roberts

Hi Lauren, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I fell in love with photography as a high school student learning film photography and processing images in the dark room at school. From there I always enjoyed taking pictures as a hobby. Once I became a mom I started focusing more on taking pictures of my girls and their milestone moments. That grew to capturing moments for friends and family before I started doing it as a business. Over the years my love of all things creative and fun merged with my love of photography and I felt the need to not only be able to share passion but also provide a place for others to grow their creative endeavors. I am a strong believer in community and helping others and that is where my passion has led me with opening Kinsbrook Studios.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening the studio has not been easy. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions and countless hours of hard work. I started the journey planning out the floorpan and layout of the studios. I wanted a place that would not only accommodate my photography interests (Maternity, newborn and milestone family photography) but a place that could be used by all other creatives not only in photography but also videography, podcasts, production etc. The space needed to be functional and efficient as well as elegant and luxury. I decided to do the demo and 90% of the remodeling of the space myself, with the help of family to not only show my girls what hard work and determination can do for yourself and your dreams but to also cut down on major costs. My daughters and I did the demo ourselves, ripping out carpet and jack hammering up some flooring. My husband then joined our team and helped us as we painted the floors, installed all the accent walls, painted walls, moved in furniture, built LED light walls and helped custom create everything we needed in the studio. My family invested in my dreams with me physically, emotionally and financially. There were several times I felt like I was in way over my head and thought we should quit and questioned if I was making the right choice. But, here we are today almost a year after opening (Feb 2024) and it’s been nothing but a dream come true. The amazing feedback we receive from clients and creatives who love the space makes the hard days worth it, We are so thankful for them and their support.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a portrait photographer who specializes in maternity, newborn and milestone family photography. I offer luxury style sessions inside and outside of the studio. I am proud of the work and creativity I bring to my sessions and my clients outcome of their sessions. I set myself apart from other photographers by being able to offer affordable yet luxury photography services.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel like it’s important to have good communication and being upfront and honest with my clients. I listen to them and what they want and I work hard to deliver that to them.
