Today we’d like to introduce you to Leandro Bolaños.
Leandro, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started when i was 23 years old, working a 9-5 job. I had lot of time to think what i was doing with my life, and i was unhappy about it. For years i tried to do content for social media related with the arts, focused on music, video games and comedy skits for instagram and TikTok, but every time i reached certain point of learning, i lose interested right away and ended up abandoning it.
Everything changed when i started analyzing all I’ve done and not having results, tried one last time to connect all the attempts as a straight line until i found out Acting was something i never tried and always wanted, besides being part of the arts. This time i decided to take it seriously, so i started looking for acting schools, if i wanted to do something big this time i will take it seriously and i need that push to make me not to quit this time. And it happened, i started my journey at Truthful Acting Studios, where i discover this passion and many more things about myself which made me a better human being.
im extremely grateful with the school because its been 3 years since i started and I am still there. Now i am in a position where i always wanted to be, acting for the camera, acting on theater, and doing voice overs!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my biggest difficulties was the fact that my mind puts a trap on me, I am an immigrant from Colombia, and always felt bad for thinking I don’t belong to here, that everyone has more opportunity than me, that’s where the school taugh me a lesson and showed me how valuable i am. Comparison is the thieve of joy, and i was being a victim of it, seeing everybody reaching their goals and dreams and comparing myself with them making me feel the opposite. With the time I’ve learned how to overcome on that
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
i am known for couple of short fills done here in central florida, but the most important for me and I am proud of it is “Dimly Lit”: A short film that touches the fiber of nowadays relationships, and how we easily focus on abandoning around the problem, than solving it when time is not waiting. This amazing project lead us to win awards in different countries as Best drama on multiple film festivals
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
To motivate others, that’s what moves me, to inspire people to get out and fight for what they want, and accept that it is okay to receive help. My biggest achievement will be always seeing my friends getting where they always wanted to be. Sharing that emotion with them makes me fill complete
