Today we’d like to introduce you to Leyah Childress.
Hi Leyah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My love for photography started in middle school, when I first picked up a camera and realized I could freeze moments in time. What began as a simple hobby quickly turned into a passion that shaped the way I see the world.
In 2015, I moved from Georgia to Florida, not knowing how much my life was about to change. Just three weeks after moving, I met my husband, who would later become not only my life partner but also my biggest supporter in this journey. We got married in 2016, and from the very beginning, he encouraged me to chase after my dream of turning photography into a business. With his help, I was able to make everything official — from the legal details to building a brand that truly reflected my heart for capturing people’s stories.
As the business grew, so did our vision for what it could become. In 2020, my husband made a huge leap of faith and left his corporate job to join me full-time. That decision changed everything. Together, we poured our time, energy, and hearts into this business, and almost instantly, we saw it take off in ways we could have only imagined.
Since then, we’ve been running this business side by side, working not just as husband and wife, but as true partners. Every step of the way has been a blend of hard work, creativity, and faith. We’ve grown together, traveled together, and built something that we’re incredibly proud of — a business that allows us to serve others, capture their milestones, and give them memories they’ll cherish forever.
We now get to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through our platform and we couldnt ask for a better life.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t always been easy — growing a business rarely is. We’ve faced plenty of challenges, but through it all we’ve kept our eyes on God and held tightly to our mission: “To love and serve our community in a Christ-like manner, ensuring our employees feel valued and our customers feel welcomed.” Balancing multiple businesses, family life, and everything in between is no small task, yet God has been faithful every step of the way. By leaning on Him, we’ve not only been sustained but truly blessed, and that’s what continues to fuel our passion for serving others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are wedding, family, and newborn photographers with a passion for creating timeless art that families can cherish for generations. Our greatest joy is helping people feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, so their true personalities shine through. What we’re most known for, however, is the way our faith in God is woven into everything we do — from the way we serve our clients to the way we lead our team.
Over the years, we’ve built an incredible team of talented, kind, and Christ-like photographers who bring their very best to every session and event. I am especially proud of the stance we’ve taken in standing firm in our beliefs and making Christ the foundation of our work. My heart’s goal with every person I meet is not only to demonstrate skill and professionalism, but also to reflect the love of Jesus through my work, my attitude, and the team that represents us.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The success of LeyRe Photography can be attributed to one thing alone — God. Without His grace and faithfulness to both me and my husband, we would not be where we are today. I truly believe people are drawn to our company because of the light of Christ that shines through us. Every opportunity, every milestone, and every bit of growth is a direct reflection of His goodness, and I will never attribute our success to anything other than Him.
