Check Out Lorenzo’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorenzo.

Hi Lorenzo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started when I was very young, I always loved cooking and baking but back in that time it wasn’t very well seeing that a boy will
Cook or bake. When I grew up I studied marketing and then studied hospitality as well and that included several cooking classes so I fell in love with my degree, so much that I studied culinary arts at Le Cordon bleu.
My mom and I shared the same birthday, it was the best thing to be born on the same day as my mom, I remember she will tell me that I was her best gift. When my mom passed away in 2010, I felt I had to keep celebrating my mom’s legacy so I decided to do what I love most and that was cooking. I placed both things together and I came with a concept called U Can Cook, a cooking school for kids and kids at heart. A store that will celebrate lots of birthdays and other holidays as well, and where imagination is endless.
I feel that my mom is with me in every party I do as a reminder of us celebrating our birthdays together.
I hope with my business I can inspire other chefs and kids to follow their passion and never forget about their dreams.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a challenge especially
coming from another country, and learning how to open and run a business from the bottom to the top.
Also we learned how to survive during COVID as kids were not vaccinated by creating classes online and delivering pizzas in a box and cakes for the kids to cook and decorate

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work for Walt Disney World as a coordinator of food and beverage, I had been there for 5 years and have worked in beautiful locations like, Cinderella’s Royal table, Artist point , EPCOt, etc.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To have patience and never to give up. There’s always a solution for everything
