Hi Lowkeyyy100, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started writing music when I was 17, on and off. In the past year, I picked music back up as a way to keep my mind creative and always thinking. I believe I haven’t reached my full potential and I’m ok with that cause I want to always learn and improve as a writer. I’ve gotten this far because I want to see how far I could take my sound. I don’t see a reason to stop.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a journey of highs and lows. As an artist, you deal with a lot of critics on the outside, and then you are your own critic on the inside. So, I would say my biggest challenge is myself. I have to be my own accountability partner to listen to instrumentals for hours or writing through writer’s block for a week. But the love of writing and wondering what my next song is going to about keeps me going.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I write my own music. And that title is just for now. I have a dream to become an entertainment mogul. I am most proud of my strength to endure tough seasons. I think I set myself apart by being true to myself, my stage name is lowkeyy100, and that ‘100’ is a reminder to keep it one hundred with myself at all times. You can lose yourself to a lot of the material cravings going on today so much that some even fake it! So, I just stay true to me.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
If you keep dreaming it, it’s for a reason.
