Hi Madi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started content creation in march of 2021 when I saw a lack of plus size bodies being represented in social media. I started posting self love videos under the username “mindsetmadi” and my account blossomed from there! Today I make videos about fashion and lifestyle, showing people that you can enjoy your life and exist right NOW in the current body you are in. All you need is confidence and the idea that your body is the least interesting thing about you! Confidence is a mindset and we need to start shifting to it!!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has had its ups and downs for sure! Some days people love my content and other days the comments are filled with hate. One of the biggest things I have had to learn is that those comments have nothing to do with me but are directly a reflection of that persons hurt. Sometimes a video that takes 2 seconds to put together can blow up and others that you put your heart and soul into can flop! So being patient is a big factor.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
In my everyday job I work at Walt Disney World as a trainer in food in beverage! I am known for helping others, and taking time to help people understand what they are learning. What sets me apart from others is my dedication and when I put my mind to something I always find a way to accomplish it. I am most proud of my consistency and knowing that people can rely on me!
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I have multiple apps on my phone to help me do my best! My favorite is my calendar that I have in the Canva app, It helps me stay organized and have all of my deadlines for work, life and events saved in one place. As for books I love reading a good romance novel to unwind and refocus myself, the library is one of my favorite places to be!
