Check Out Madison Zahn’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Zahn.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I always had a creative aspect of life. I would always find ways to upscale anything in fresh, creative ways.

I started photography in middle school. I was apart of a photography class using my dad’s old Nikon film camera. From there, I fell in LOVE with capturing memories/art through photography.

From then, I was a creative intern for a church and found a love for graphics/social media. Eventually I co led the department and had to learn digital marketing enough to teach it to others. I grew in photography, videography, digital/graphic design, social media management, website creation, and more so I was able to teach others while doing what I loved.

During that time, I was volunteering for the creative departments of other churches around the area until I went to college. At my college I was accepted to be apart of a digital marketing team on campus. There I did similar to what I did in the church, while being developed under experts. I specifically grew in, videography, editing, and photography.

During college, I started my own personal digital marketing company called Madz Printz. I asked my friends on campus if I could take photos of them and that’s where it started.

After graduating college, I contracted/volunteered for bigger event photography/graphic/videography. There I grew my personal style and learned some fun tricks that are now some of my signature photo styles.

Since then, I am still contracting/volunteering wherever I can while managing some social media accounts and my own personal business. Madz Printz has evolved style wise in the past 5 years and I am grateful that I get to capture memories through the lense.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not haha.

I am a perfectionist who is very hard on theirselves. I will stare at a project until I can’t stand it and want to rip it apart. Or, I can knock out projects all at once but it’s never constant.

I want to make sure I am giving the best I can for each project which can be emotionally/physically tolling. I tend to sometimes avoid projects if I find them too difficult or hard to navigate leading to procrastination.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I also am a next-gen worship leader for my church. People who work with me will know I am a Christian just based off of who I am. I am known for saying amen a lot, I pray before each session (with or without my clients), and I LOVE making people feel comfortable and excited about their projects. Not only that, I love getting to know people and their personalities. It’s always enjoyable to chat with new people and hear all about their lives.

I am proud of my creativity. I think that’s what sets me apart from others and what I’m known for. Currently the Madz Printz page is more towards film photos BUT… I can be very edgy/editorial one project, then take emotion pulling film esc photos another project. I love slow shutter photos, and I LOVE when people have super creative ideas. It’s always so fun to get out of my creative boundaries and try something new.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Weird enough, I don’t believe in luck. I believe in the understanding that everything happens for a reason with a purpose for the kingdom. It wasn’t luck that I gained the ability to do digital marketing or work on very special projects. It all happened for a reason, in its timing, and it’s growing me for my future assignments.
