Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Miller.
Hi Marc, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Everything started in 2015, with only 16, I attended local fashion shows and showrooms in my hometown, Panama City, Panama. It was around that time when I was still discovering myself. I did not know much about brands or styles, but I just knew I loved fashion. I started a blog, on my Instagram, where at first it was just news and updates about the fashion and entertainment industry. Throughout the years, I was gaining more confidence in myself as I was also learning a lot more about styling. Had the opportunity to work with different local designers in different campaigns and produced my first Fashion Film called Cosmololita, which premiered at the Panama Fashion Film Festival in 2017. After graduating high school, moved to the US to pursue my Bachelors, as I was a full-time student and an art gallery assistant, I tried my best to make some time and travel to different cities to explore their culture and get more inspiration. As well as attending different fashion weeks around the region, such as New York, Colombia, Miami, LA, and many more. Today I am currently finishing my second degree in Entertainment Management and have recently been working with Strike Magazine Orlando for a few issues and launched my first magazine called Antuan, which is an all-male magazine that celebrates their figure in all shapes and forms, through fashion and art.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not that easy, especially in an industry that is very competitive and the resources get difficult to reach even more through the years. Comparing yourself with others is always the big insecurity that would trigger any influencer or creative. We just gotta remember that we are unique and even do someone might be doing better or worse, they can never be us!
For me the pandemic affected me creatively so hard. Had so many things planned, so many things I wanted to create and it just completely blocked me for a while. Thankfully, I was able to take some time to slowly get my life together and able to re-set my creative world.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am all over the place haha
So I am a creative director/fashion stylist/editor in chief/dancer/painter/content creator
I specialize in fashion (mainly) editorials, and campaigns but also for personal events with clients.
I am also the fashion stylist director of Strike Magazine Orlando for 2 years now. Currently the editor in chief of my own magazine, Antuan, which just launched a few months ago. I also work and collaborate with other creators around the region for their own projects or brand deals. Lets say I love keeping myself busy haha.
Right now, I am so proud of myself and the hard work I put on everything I do. I have this rule that if I love it, I will do anything to make it happen. So proud to be able to produced and directed an entire fashion show last spring for Strike Magazine, as well as directing the styling for their issue 8 , while I was working at the same time my own magazine. I feel like for some people it might be overwhelming, but when I just do the things that I love, I don’t see obstacles, I just a see a path that I must follow, even if there’s light or darkness. I know there is a rainbow on the other side of it.
