Hi, I’m Marie Stroh, owner of Bain-Marie Cake and Cookie Studio. Baking has always been my love language — I’ve been sharing sweet treats with friends and family for as long as I can remember. After earning my bachelor’s degree in Patisserie from Nicholls State University and spending years honing my craft in bakeries, restaurants, and hotels, I opened my own studio in 2021. As a type one diabetic, I know firsthand how meaningful food can be, and I love creating custom cakes, cookies, and more to help people celebrate life’s sweet moments, big or small.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting Bain-Marie Cake and Cookie Studio in Seattle, WA in 2021 was a dream come true, but when I relocated to St. Cloud, FL in 2022, I had to rebuild everything from the ground up. Finding new customers and making a name for myself in a brand-new community wasn’t easy, but through word of mouth, local support, and social media, I’ve been able to grow and connect with so many wonderful people who share my love for all things sweet.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in custom cakes and intricately decorated sugar cookies, all made from scratch with the finest ingredients. Every design is personal and detailed, crafted to match each customer’s vision. My signature item — Brown Butter Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies — has become a favorite among those who know me for my focus on flavor and quality.
