Check Out Mariset Gonzalez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariset Gonzalez

Hi Mariset, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raise in Cuba, but I always wanted to have a better future for me and my family, so when the opportunity came to move to The United States, I took it. As an immigrant, I had to work in different kind of jobs, but my passion has always been makeup artistry and everything related with beauty, so when the pandemic hit in 2020, and we were stuck at home, I decided to start practicing on my makeup skills and opened my Instagram page to post my work. At first, I didn’t have much followers but as my content was improving, so did my page, I gained a lot of followers in a short period of time, which led me to have clients and collaborations with different brands. I’m happy with the results so far, but I plan to continue my education in this field to be the best that I can be.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never easy to move to another country, far away from your loved ones and everything that you know, learn a different language, culture, and work in jobs that were not what you envision for yourself, but everything happens for a reason and the challenges that we face is what make us thrive.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a makeup artist, and content creator. As a makeup artist, I love to do all kinds of looks, from Natural to Halloween. I’m known for listening to my clients, and make them feel and look the way they wanted to, highlighting the features that makes them unique.
I also love my work as a content creator for social media, cause I like to share my experiences with other people, whether it’s recommending products, places, food, makeup trends, etc.
I’m proud of everything that I’ve accomplished so far, and of not giving up no matter what, I think that’s one of the things that sets me apart from others, that, and the fact that I work hard for what I want.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I don’t have a specific way to find a mentor, what has worked for me is to do my research online based on what I want to accomplish.
