Check Out Minnaleah Abrams-Miller’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Minnaleah Abrams-Miller.

Hi Minnaleah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My best friend, Morgan Ashley of Coral Springs, FL, would come over regularly to do my nails and hang out. I got tired of my bestie coming over to work and not play. So, I asked her to teach me. Being a very creative and artsy person, I caught on quickly. I started doing my nails, my mums nails, some friends nails, and sometimes Morgan’s nails. In 2020 during covid, I was a graphic designer and product designer for a little Amazon company. As things got crazy and it was time to find a new path. My husband, Tommy, and Morgan teamed up on me and informed me that I was going to nail school. Reluctantly I said “why not” unknowingly I was going to love this new path. August 4th, 2020, I became a licensed Nail Technician and started at the salon Morgan was employed at in Coconut Creek, FL. I loved it. Quickly I became fully booked and had to turn new clients away. Specializing in art, I got a nice local following. In June of 2022, my hubby and I decided to buy our first home near the “Happiest Place on Earth.” Moving 3 hours away from my clients has been a big jump for me and opening my own suite has had its challenges. But I am growing. I still have some of my South Florida clients who have followed me 3 hours north for their nail services and I am ever so grateful! My new clients have become my rocks! This journey has become so amazing. I’m so excited to see how far I can make my little Nail-pire (nail empire) grow!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest struggles I’ve had are finding clients. It took me about 3-6 months to start to have a good following when I first started. Now that I have moved it’s the same struggle.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Art has always been a big part of my life and my Mema (My mum’s mum) called it when she saw some of my first scribbles. She told my mum I was going to be an artist and my mum looked at these crayon scribbles on the back of the place matt at the hole-in-the-wall diner made by this little 3-year-old and wondered what her mum was smoking. As time went on in the early ’90s, I was fortunate enough for my parents to be able to get me a computer. And for those who remember I quickly self-taught myself Windows Paint. I made pixelated art and blew my parents away. As soon as photoshop became a thing my parents made sure I had it. When I would ask them for art tools of any kind, they would do their best to make sure it was accessible to me. I did my first art show when I was 13 years old at the Coral Springs City Center in Coral Springs, FL. By high school, I tried other mediums. I discovered Photography, also finding out my cousin, the fabulous Marcia Resnick of New York, is a rock and roll photographer. She became a huge inspiration to me. Since then, I have dabbled in so many different mediums of art. I sketch, I paint, I go digital, I photograph and now I paint little, tiny images on people’s nails and I love that I get to follow my dream.
