Check Out Natalia Sepúlveda’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Sepúlveda.

Natalia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hi, thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity. I was born in San German, Puerto Rico, and moved to Orlando, Florida during my childhood. I was raised bilingual and was able to take advantage of many opportunities to learn about different cultures and languages, such as becoming a McNair Scholar and Fellow and studying abroad in Croatia. My passion for the Hispanic culture grew and I completed a bachelor’s and master’s in Spanish Literature at the University of Central Florida. Although I aimed to be a Spanish Literature professor in college, I decided to take care of my new family and have my own business. I am the children’s book author of “Kai The Missionary Sea Turtle| Kai la Tortuga marina misionera, a bilingual English and Spanish underwater adventure about missions. I am also the owner of Bilingual Lifestyle Publishing, where I work as a bilingual translator and editor for children’s books and educational resources. I also run a blog to inspire parents that want to raise their children Christian and bilingual.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a children’s book translator and editor one of the challenges I have faced is the wide variety of Spanish dialects.

It has been very easy to fall in love with the stories I work on. It feels so special to work along with so many creative and respected authors, illustrators, and book designers to create masterpieces in both English and Spanish. I truly love my work and enjoy teaching children and adults through books. It’s an honor to put my talents and degrees into good use to make a difference in the community locally, nationally, and internationally. A dream come true!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My husband and I have a heart for missions and created Panem Project, a media company and missions support network. We love supporting missionaries locally and around the world.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Jesus is my primary source of happiness. I am so thankful for just being alive and to be forgiven and healed by Him. My family also makes me happy; my husband is my best friend and I just love spending time with my children. I love seeing my little ones learn and enjoy their childhood.
