Check Out Renata Castilho’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Renata Castilho.

Hi Renata, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started with a fashion and beauty Blog when I was starting marketing school. I’ve always really enjoyed writing and have always been very creative. When I created the Blog, I intended to show people the knowledge I had at the time on these subjects. In 2020 I moved to the United States, and my lifestyle has changed greatly. I realized that I needed to change the subject of my content, and I started to dedicate myself to showing the life of an immigrant in the United States. I conquered an audience that watches me every day, and I help several people who dream of coming here. Some brands work with me, and I help to promote them. My goal is to keep growing my number of followers on social media and reach more and more people; that way, I’ll be able to help those who, like me, dream of living in another country but don’t know where to start.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was never easy. Working independently is a big challenge. You must be disciplined, plan to make the content, and be prepared for negative comments. Also, you have to work hard to achieve the desired results. Sometimes it’s a little discouraging, but it’s all worth it when I realize how many people I’m helping with my content. There will be problems along the way, but it takes perseverance and faith.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Currently, I work with social media, and my focus is on showing the reality of an immigrant’s life in the United States and the main differences between one country and another. Through informative and humor videos, I pass the necessary information to my audience. What sets me apart from others is that I don’t romanticize the life of an immigrant. Living in another country is very nice, but there are also many negative points. Even though I always try to show the difficulties an immigrant goes through in a good-natured way, I think it’s important to be very realistic about it. It makes me very happy when I get messages from people saying that I was able to help them with my content; this is my main goal.

We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is achieving your goal and helping others in the process. It doesn’t matter how much money you make as long as you can get your message across and fulfill your role.
